On a free he's a no brainer. He'd be amazing in a midfield 3 next to Thiago and Fab/Hendo.

Not sure if Kessie has signed up anywhere also, but Brozovic and Kessie on free's would revamp our midfield for practically nothing (wages + signing bonus).

Ox goes for whatever we can get and Milner can move to a coaching role or back to Leeds for a final go around.

Brozovic is a quality player...couldnt help notice at the end of the game Klopp had his arm around him as they walked down the tunnel. Would be a quality addition to our midfield on free.

Turns 30 this year. But yeah he is a quality player. He is not even close to being their best midfielder though. Thankfully that guy, Barella, was suspended for both games against us. Now he is a player I would love to see playing for us and taking over Henderson's spot in the first team.

Have to say Inter played really well last night, especially given they were playing one of the best teams in the competition away from home. They gave us a hell of a game and were missing a few players. Not too many teams will push us as hard as they did and it is good to get a little reminder now and then of what a loss feels like (especially when the loss was not costly in the end) to further spur us on in the games that follow.

Edit: did not notice the other post mentioning his age before hitting reply.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Feel like he's the type that could get another 5 years at the top level out of himself. Its all effortless with him

We have to keep an eye on the home grown quota too.

Hopefully the likes of Elliott, Carvalho, Williams and Bellingham weigh in our favour.

Not seen all the posts but I mentioned the state of the pitch last night. Anyone else think it is the worst it's been for many, many years? There was a number of occasions last night when the ball bobbled around.

Also noticed our players losing their footing, especially Mane & Jota.

Back to the match, I really don't think that this was the game for Jones to play, i think I'd rather have seen Hendo on from the start and then withdrawn later, if we are indeed managing his minutes.

But, we had some good chances and their goal came from a wonder strike from outside the box, don't recall Allison making any save of note before then, or even feeling particularly anxious that they would score.

The better, easier chances fell to us and we just didn't put them away on the night.

That’s the difference of 65 minutes instead of 25 though. Now we can start Hendo at the weekend and rotate one of the others.

                            Thought Curtis was fine.

Yes, I wanted Henderson to start too, for that same reason.

I think he showed a lot of faith in Jones in starting him. For me he got caught on the ball too much. It was all a bit much for him at times.

Anyway we got away with it. It was awkward at times but in truth we should still have won that game last night, let alone the tie overall.

I do think a theme for me in recent games has been the control of midfield. I think the ultimate 3 for that at the moment are Fab, Thiago and Hendo. Outside of those we have loads of talented midfielders, but they all lack that experience and nouse to take the sting out of a tricky game. If we do bring in another midfielder it's why I'd love someone like Pedri (dreaming I know).

Oh and I agree on the pitch, the worst I've seen it for a while. Has it been like that for a while? I hadn't really noticed until last nights game.

He was good last night, only he wants time on the ball when he receives it and Inter gave us no time at all. But the reason I feel we needed Henderson is that he presses better and at times I felt that we gave their midfield too much space, and I think Henderson (or Keita) are better at pressuring the man on the ball than Curtis.
