Sounds like Thiago is back in full training but I'd keep him on the bench - bring him on if we're in a spot of bother - and save him for Brighton.

I'd go with Konate again since him and VVD did so well in the 1st leg. Matip has been ill so save him for Brighton too. I'd also rest Henderson for Saturday and bring in Jones or perhaps Elliott. Jota's turn to start so give Diaz a rest imo.

If Thiago comes thru the training sessions prior to the game ok, I think Klopp will give him minutes from the start in this one. Inter gave us a lot of problems in that first leg, so we don't want to be too complacent and give them the initiative. Start strong and then withdraw players later. Having the option to bring on Diaz, Bobby, Keita etc will be amazing.

I'd be a tiny bit concerned with those two if Inter score and put us under pressure. Is that harsh?

Plus if we start fast it might counter then trying to do the same thing in order to get the early goal they probably need.

they cannot handle our intensity, playing slow lethargic football (which we won't) would be pretty silly against a team used to playing in a slow lethargic football division. Scoring an early goal would kill the game off.

Good point but what I mean is to keep them at arms length at all times.

But you're right, we're more likely to be successful if we blitz them and get another goal.

It’s generally true that Italian teams play at a slower tempo, but Inter actually played a pretty high tempo pressing game against us in the first leg. They did it pretty well too.
