It’s generally true that Italian teams play at a slower tempo, but Inter actually played a pretty high tempo pressing game against us in the first leg. They did it pretty well too.

True - it was really a high tempo game but they tired and had no depth off the bench. When we brought Hendo and Naby on it allowed us to keep going at the same rate and we pulled away

It’s not what they are used to week in week out and add in the Anfield factor we can crank it up even more

Yeah they were absolutely bolloxed, they gave everything and we weren't even into second gear. If we play our best and up that tempo, they don't stand a chance. Agree, start strong, kill the game off and then make the necessary subs to see the game out.

I'm sure that is what will happen (i.e. he'll start and hopefully be subbed off at 55-60).

I'd still prefer to not have to bring him on at all though if possible, and have him as back-up on the bench like we sometimes do in the domestic cup competitions.

I think we have a luxury of riches in that front 3 right now. I think it's those two midfield spots (Fabinho is a no brainer) that are most important to get right tonight in terms of team selection.

Would love a fast start from us, but we've not shown anything like this season compared to previous seasons. It's like we've got a new gameplan of everyone get a touch early doors, keep possession, build up momentum and then speed up if gaps open up or on the counter.

I don't remember seeing us come flying out of the blocks like in previous seasons when were were two or three up come the half hour mark... we also seem to fade away after 20 mins on the occasions we do have some tempo... no idea what the tactics are but it's definitely changed over the last 18 months...

We definitely seem to be more about control and wearing teams down rather than the boom and bust roller coaster rides of previous seasons.
