He is no Matip... but he is young and pretty good for 3rd choice.

But he was rested against Watford, right? So he's only played 90 minutes so far since the internationals. Might be controversial but Diaz is by far our best forward right now. Jota is second best.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostDiaz isn't starting after playing 90 minutes tonight.
It'll be Bobby, Mane and Mo with Jota and Diaz on if required
In the biggest game of the season, so far, you have to put your best team out there. You think City will rest KdB because he played 90 minutes tonight?
I would go with Diaz, Jota and Salah only because he's better on the right than Mane. One tit for another.

Konates fine for 3rd/4th choice. At the moment though, I don’t think he’s close to the first two. Debatable whether he’s better than Gomez, probably not yet but the latters injuries have given him a chance.
In any case, 4 great centre backs.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

Mane was our player of the year on the right before Salah came in, i've no problem with him there.Originally posted by BigChief View PostBut he was rested against Watford, right? Salah is clearly going to start but take all the emotion and everything out of it, i'm not sure he should.

However Mane plays up front he always presses and defends like a *******, which we'll need against City. On current form, I'd put Mo on the bench and bring him on when needed. Hopefully the sting will spur him on.Originally posted by Liverpool View PostMane was our player of the year on the right before Salah came in, i've no problem with him there.

it's not going to happen or be popular but I agree tbh. Its such a season defining game, there is no room for sentiment. Get the lads in the best shape starting.

Mane, Salah, Robbo and Trent (understandable, and kind of grew into the game) were all absolutely ****e.
Salah looks like a completely different player now that Egypt have run him into the ground. Needs a rest, but Klopp just refuses to rest the guy. He's knackered!
Mane was his usual self. Absolutely horrendous in possession (there was one early on that was so bad that even I was shocked), then pops up for a goal and as always runs around pressing like a madman.
Robbo continues to start every single game despite having a very capable understudy. He looks cooked already.
A lot of our keys players are looking leggy already and we haven't even hit the main stretch. Not optimistic for these big games coming up seeing the state they're in TBH."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Salah keeps saying "show me the money" and klopp keeps playing him as if to say "show us you're worth it then" but unfortunately Mo has run out of steam.
No running left, just walking like an egyptian.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

No he is not on that level yet, then again at the age of 22 neither of Matip or VVD were under the spotlight of playing for a club like Liverpool in the Champions league.
Konate is a bit of a freak with how far along he is for his age, more so when you take imto account the amount of game time he missed through injuries.
Matip was 25 when he joined us. VVD was 26. Will be very interesting to see what level Konate is at when he gets to the same age given he will have cut his teeth at Liverpool FC level by the time he reaches those ages rather than be making the jump to LFC level at 25/26.
Think the guy is going to be an absolute beast by the time he turns 24 or 25.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
