You would like to think that we won't play that badly again and we've learned a few things. We'll know a bit more when we see the lineup vs Benfica. The squad is in the best shape it's been in years, just need our lads to perform to their best. ****ing hell the games are coming thick and fast.

I don't think we played all that badly so much as we were outplayed by the better team on the day.

Think a few players were off form a bit or maybe a bit off of the pace for taking on a team as good as City and against a lesser team it would not have shown the same way.

Do hope we have learned a few things from it though and make a couple tweaks to our line up for when we meet them again.

Playing City is always a bit of a lottery, for both teams really, as all it takes if for one to be on fire and the other to be off the pace a tiny bit and it could turn into a hiding fast.

We were definitely outplayed but IMO Trent, Robbo, Jota, Mo, Fab, Hendo, Thiago all can play so much better than what they showed. Even VVD looked dodgy at times & we still managed to pull a draw out even though we were a bit lucky. I just can't us being as bad when we play them again. I think if Firmino is fit, he will start vs City.

That's a good way of looking at it. City caught us on a really **** day (or caused us to have one) but did not take advantage. We won't always be this bad or caught out by their surprising, but effective, long ball strategy. That can only work once.

My worry is that they CAUSED us to have a bad day, and they are capable of doing that again. We are also opened up too easily by Man City (and Chelsea and Spurs).

On the plus side, none of them have beaten us this season, and we’ve scored plenty of goals in these games.

Yep. We need Mo banging in the goals asap.

Yes, they got in behind us too easily as our midfield failed to press at the right time leaving our defenders/goalkeeper with too much to do!
However, we did score & give those teams headaches but we need our forwards firing so how much longer are we gonna persevere with a misfiring Salah?
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Against City he got an assist, was unlucky not to have a second assist, and he worked like a trojan defensively on that right flank.

He may not have scored in that game but he was not misfiring in it.

All our forwards did their jobs against City really. Jota scored, Mane scored and Salah got an assist.

Absolutely key in the business end of the season. He brings the fear factor when on form.

What if he does not score between now and the end of the season but gets four or five assists along with drawing defenders away thus creating space for the other attackers? Is that him out of form? I appreciate that is a what of question but the guy's form season after season says he comes good more often than not.

Short of an injury or a seriously crazy dip in fitness and form, Salah starts almost every game for me, the only game I would not start him in between now and the end of the season is tonight's game. He is just too good not to start the other games.

Give him some minutes off if/when we are winning games by subbing him off, but he is our best attacker and the one that forces most other teams to base tactics around him.

The Mo bashing is mad, was very good Sunday, unlucky not to score when he curled the effort bottom corner 2nd half.

He just needs a foil to work off; Hendo isn't where he was 12 months ago & Jota isn't Bobby so he needs to tweak his game (or remember what he was doing so well before xmas hahaha)

His form early season was a high & impossible to maintain, but he is doing what Klopp wants

That little jump and half turn he does when he misses or his shot is blocked is so cute, that's worth 400k a week on its own
