Henderson out of that side seemed to be a good thing. I know Kdb out was huge but we were brilliant in posession and our press was the best I've seen this season. That trio of Fab Thiago and Keita were excellent, especially in that first half half which was a masterclass.

Hendo doesn't press or tackle enough - he's just not suited to these types of gamesOriginally posted by danperkins View PostHenderson out of that side seemed to be a good thing. Problem is he's not suited to low block teams either. We usually played him in the big games for his leadership and experience, which to be fair he's been delivering in until recently.Originally posted by rudedog View PostHendo doesn't press or tackle enough - he's just not suited to these types of games
It seems the harsh mistress that is professional football is about to kick Hendo out without a second thought. One tit for another.

He definitely does this still but I think he’s lost a yard over the first few metres.Originally posted by rudedog View PostHendo doesn't press or tackle enough - he's just not suited to these types of games
His game was was always helped a lot by his athleticism so maybe it’s a case where he’s got to adapt for the last couple of years at this level.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

Not every team will have the personnel to expose our high back line as effectively as City can so I don’t think it’s game over for Hendo yet. Against lesser teams, Klopp seems happy to trust the back line playing the offside trap coupled with Ali’s amazing goal keeping.Originally posted by BigChief View PostProblem is he's not suited to low block teams either. What we did so much better yesterday was press City high up and give them less time and space to play those balls over the top - Keita and Thiago were brilliant at it and City seemed much more careless with the ball as a result. We also benefited from them not playing Laporte and Rodri who did a bit of damage with that type of ball last week.

We did to them what they did against us the weekend before. Only difference was we took our chances when on top.
Keita and Thiago being in the middle was the difference maker for me. They could not press us with those two there and we could press the **** out of them.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Final thought is that it was disgraceful that Fernandinho wasn’t sent off. Blatant booking for a cynical foul on Diaz first half not given, and his slide though on Mane was a straight red offence. That guy has had a charmed career with referees for some very bizarre reason.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Agreed, thankfully it didn't have an effect on the result though.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostFinal thought is that it was disgraceful that Fernandinho wasn’t sent off. Both Fernandinho & Silva get away with soo much, you can add Rhodri to that too; but no way in the same hemisphere as the other two.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostFinal thought is that it was disgraceful that Fernandinho wasn’t sent off. I have now idea how they get away with it TBH.

I think the bottom line is that there is a very fine margin between us and City.
They have spent way more than us and we are having to do more with less.
Regardless of where we finsh on the league, we are on the verge of three cup finals. Its been a good season. It will probably be a great season. It might even turn out to be a fantastic one.
Credit to Klopp for bringing this team together and making it a real TEAM, not just a collection of players. I hope he is feeling the love and signs a new contract. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
