Going to be a bit more workman like and scrappy in the middle methinks, but they are the three being trusted so hope they all play out of their skins today.

Come on Redmen. Three points please and who cares whether we get the points at a canter or just scrape by as long as we find a way to get them.

That lineup terrifies me. Hope I’m wrong but there’s a big loss of creativity without Trent & Thiago. Unless Robertson steps up or the front three create their own chances, I’m concerned about where our creativity comes from.

Haha. I wasn’t predicting, I was saying what I thought we should’ve gone with. If you were predicting then you got it spot on, well in.

I’m not happy with the midfield either but we certainly need to rotate through this horror fixture list. TAA is vital to our attack & will be missed but hopefully we’ve got enough to get the result.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

To be fair to Gomez he has been very good the last three games in which he started at RB. He defended well, got forward well, got good crosses in and got at least one assist I think.

Think the drop off to him at RB is not as big as the drop from Fab to Milner or Thiago to either of Keita and Henderson.

Big call by Jurgen, but we are still fielding a midfield of winners with plenty of big game experience between them.

I don't think we will be playing around in midfield today. Straight to the forwards please and let them do the damage.

People going on about Newcastles form. Since January the only teams they've played of note are Tottenham, West Ham and Chelsea. Smashed by Tottenham, drew with Hammers and beaten by Chelsea. After this they have City and Arsenal. They also lost to Everton in a real turd on a stick match.

They're not easy to beat and that side, dropping 4 first choice players, isn't awe inspiring but if we can't win this then we don't deserve the title.

Diaz and Mane are so good at pressing that it will be like having another midfielder on the pitch.

Big calls but the right ones I think because Trent is so valuable and he’s had muscle injuries this season already.

That eleven is still extremely strong and more than good enough to put away pretty much every team in the league.

This midfield has started two games together this season, both away and both 5-0 wins at United and Watford.

More of the same please but any kind of victory will do.

I was feeling nervous Rafa but having read your post I’m feeling much more confident now.

Can you check the match threads to see if Ken said that Milner should have retired a year ago?

Job was done by that stage.
