Usually though City start all guns blazing and go ahead early and it was demoralises teams. Villa are a decent counter attacking team along the same lines as West Ham although not as good & they could very well score vs City. The only way I see it getting uncomfortable for them is if it's still nil all at half time the atmosphere might get tense in the stadium and filter down. They are experienced winners though and have a manager that has seen it all so that is wishful thinking, although no team is immune from fear.

Honestly though, Villa have absolutely nothing to play for, they owe us nothing, the Etihad will be bouncing and the former reds associated with Villa primary focus will not be on doing us a favour. In fact they are probably thinking more so about what beach they are going to lie on in a few days.

We all watch in hope, see what happens. I don't expect much myself but it has been a blast of a season and we have been magnificent.

How do we approach today mentally then?

It's nearly impossible not to hold onto some kind of hope we might nick it, but logically I know that is daft. City are 5 to 1 on to win today.

I want to minimise that feeling of inevitable heartbreak when they go 2-0 up after 10 minutes but I think it is unavoidable to some degree. I just feel we're so, so unlucky to lose it again after likely exceeding 90 points again!

Our target is 92 points - if that wins us the league then great, if not then we still reached our target.

His form didn’t really drop off though - arguably not at the same level as the first part of the season when he was fresh. Goals have dried certainly, but his overall contribution and assists has been there throughout. I still haven’t seen a single player who’s carried their exceptional form through a whole season. Mo is player of the year for me.

His form did drop off though, his general play, touch, finishing etc which I thought was the general consensus. He always works hard, his attitude is always top notch but his body language has been one of frustration, he's been choosing wrong passes, hesitating, running down blind alleys & not taking on players like he usually does. Obviously at stages in the 2nd half of the season his class has shown on times but his general play just using the eye and forgetting stats, has been nowhere near his top levels.

He scored 3 pens, got some assists .. some of which are fantasy football ones, some of which were great assists. I don't think there is many people that would say he has been remotely the same player in the 2nd half of the season. International football burned him out imo and although he is still working hard, that razor edge sharpness mentally and physically has been missing for the most part. If he had no international obligations & if I could pick any player currently playing in world football that could have carried on that form or close to it... it would be Mo.

We need him for the Champs league, I get he wants that top scorer & I do think he will feature at some stage but it is a risk imo. A fully fresh and firing Mo is unplayable and the best player in the world. Madrid have been in cruise control for weeks now in La Liga so their lads are fresh. It's a tough call for Klopp as I'm sure Mo is itching to play today to try wrap up that top scorer spot.

Today is going to be murder. I'm going to Wembley to the FA Trophy final which is on at the same time as our game. My team is going to get thrashed by super rich Wrexham (money wins in all tiers of the game ) and my mate booked 4 instead of 5 tickets for us, so I'm sitting on my own 5 blocks away. Didn't notice it until he asked if us 4 wanted to join them for pizza in London before the game
