    Community Shield v Man City

17:00pm kick off at Leicester's ground!

    Anyone arsed?

Can't say I am, but I will watch it. Hope we see Nunez start.

Looking forward to it mself. I'd love for us to beat them and lay down a marker. Because it's Liverpool vs City, I do think it will be a high intensity game and one which both teams to go flat out to win.

So we have a game at Anfield the day after this? What is the deal? Will we go full strength for this then field the ressies at Anfield? Seems odd.

Also wonder if we will be keen to avoid any more Haaland vs Nunez narratives and heap more pressure on by not playing him against City?

Think it will mean more to City than us tbh. Not that we will want to lose.

Be an interesting contrast in seeing whose pre season prep looks to have their team sharper.

We will have played at least twice as many pre season games as City by the time this game starts with Pepe favouring tactical closed door sessions over extra pre season games.

I think all of our first team squad will get a total of 90 mins over the weekend....... Final games of pre-season before we go into our league-zone from next Tuesday onwards.

I expect the team to start in the opening league game to start v City. So something like:

            Alisson
            Trent, Konate, Virgil, Robbo
            Elliot, Fabinho, Thiago
            Salah, nunez, Diaz

I know what Shaggy is talking about in terms of not beong too arsed. At the end of last season i think a lot of us were on the ****in ropes....... And anyone who i talked to that went to Paris (myself including) were ****in allergic to footy in the aftermath of that.

But hopefully 5 mins into this game, there will be a good tackle on one of their ponies (my bet is that robbo will be the first man to force the tempo in this way) and we will all be well into it then again

Fabinho is my bet for that

Konate could be a dark horse in the first cruncher of the day race too.

Course with Thiago around, that fecker could leave something on someone in the first 60 seconds.

So that would me a 2nd string starts for the game at Anfield? I would be surprised if he does that. I'm sure those with tickets for the Anfield game would be hoping to see Salah and Nunez etc.

I wonder how City will play seems like they could be a bit undercooked? Have they only had 2 pre-season games?

Two preseason games, but apparantly a huge focus on playing behind closed doors to get playing patterns and the like down.

By all accounts Pepe is making his teams even more drilled and more robotic than ever.

Might be something that works for them, or could be Pepe overthinking things again. Either way it all reads like a really sterlile approach to sport.

                        Cruncher
                        1: Millie
                        2: Konate
                        3: Robbo

                        Outside bet: Gomez on Grealish

A fair amount of change to them this season as well in terms of personal out. So they will need to hope that Halaand settles early and that Phillips is good. They also need more from Grealish.

Lets hope this season it takes them a while to get going. When we won the League we went on a relentless winning run and they dropped a fair few points. I'd be more than up for another procession like that.

No different than last year, although both games at Anfield last time.

Anyone buying tickets for a match the following day after CS should know it will be a reserve team
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
