Yeah I must admit I was surprised that wasn’t a free kick to us as I thought he had both hands on the ball. Maybe if he carried on like a pork chop rolling around holding his ‘ injured ‘ hands we might have got the decision? Not that I want our players to do a Grealish thoughMe, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

a pretty good performance for a third choice keeper, against the best (apart from us) team in the league. In the days of Mignolet/Karius, he’d be pushing for a starting place now…
I thought that too, but not sure if he got both hands on the ball before Foden got a toe to the ball or not? The replay I saw wasn’t clear. Also it wasn’t clear if VAR checked it or not- I assume they did cos would only take 10 seconds to see it was onside. Whether it was a foul or not, I felt like he shoulda held it…Originally posted by Pepe79 View PostHe appeared to have 2 hands on the ball when Foden tackled him for their goal too.

I rewatched the second half last night and commentators mentioned VAR took a bit longer because of the foul situation. I think the two hands on the ball situation is if it's under control of the goalie and I don't think it was under Adrian's control.
Adrian did ok and he was facing one of the most difficult pressing teams in the league, other than us. Hopefully will be fine against the low block teams like Fulham, Utd, etc.One tit for another.

Think he was fine tbh.
Especially when you consider that he is not our back up keeper, he is the back up to our back up keeper.
Not many clubs in the league will have a third choice keeper as good as him.
Against teams that press us less than City did yesterday there will be even less scope or potential for any errors from him imo as we will control far more of the game.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I like him, he seems an infectious character and positive guy. He's had good performances in the past, yesterday was sketchy and the best thing to say about it is that he didn't cost us the game.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostYeah, I agree, I thought his poor distribution gave City possession too much. Ended up punting it upfield so many times.

I just thought that yesterday he kept parrying the ball instead of clearing it. It was flappy and lucky. He gave away possession far too many times in our own half and we lucky again that nothing came of itOriginally posted by Bender View PostHe as a GK has too many errors in his game...can pull of great saves but these are outweighed by too many errors for a back up gk

Re the hand on ball situation, I forget which one but, after an incident last year it was said that 1 finger is enough - doesn't have to be two hands hence why you can't swipe it is the ball is on one hand while the GK prepares to kick. I only assume that it was not given a foul as it was decided Adrian lost the ball without the interference from whatever City player it wasFootball without Origi is nothing

More likely that it wasn’t clear enough either way to overturn the ref’s initial decision. One of those that VAR wouldn’t have overturned whichever way the ref gave it.Originally posted by ChesterDave View PostRe the hand on ball situation, I forget which one but, after an incident last year it was said that 1 finger is enough - doesn't have to be two hands hence why you can't swipe it is the ball is on one hand while the GK prepares to kick.
