At least we have a hold of possession cos we couldn't get or keep the ball for the first 15. A team with a midfield would rip Utd apart cos however poor we've been, they have ceded possession to us and even though we barely look like scoring they're kind of last ditching it defensively. Our problems are of our own making and the frugality has come back to bite us. We're basically 6 weeks too late in strengthening midfield, Carvalho notwithstanding. We already knew that Thiago and Naby are kinda crocks and Hendo isn't even a full time starter.
Maybe Firmino off, move Elliot forward, and bring on Fab
Firmino has done ok for him to be fair. If we grip this midfield we can get runners behind. Right now we are getting turned and so everyone is starting too far back. Also, our counter is non existent this season.
We were growing into that. Just ****ing one nil down as per.
We were growing into the game in the fact we had possession in the final third, but after that we haven’t looked like scoring in a million years. Firminho should be just behind a front three not the focal point, Diaz and Salah might aswell be sitting in the stand they are that wide, I just can’t see who is going to score with this set up.

We’re growing into it as they tire and the crowd quietens but the football is still not good. Yes we have lots of players missing with injuries but we’re still not that far off a recognisable first eleven. Milner is a liability but its Salah, Trent, VVD, Robbo, Henderson, Firmino that are really letting the team down with their form, first choice title and CL winning players looking distinctly average. Is it fatigue, confidence, tactical changes, I don’t know, but something isn’t right and hasn’t been for a while.

If I'm to pluck a positive Elliot looks class. As exciting as trent was at his age. Hopefully he doesn't overdo the caffeine like Trent.
To a point I agree, but it’s just tidy, not explosive or particularly noteworthy, and I thought he would be more of a creative flare player. If that’s not what he odd then fair enough.
