Pointless trying to be reasonable or putting things in context when people are so focused on convincing themselves (and everyone else in the most dramatic fashion) that every single one of our players championship level and have been for years.

Last season was a tough one, we won almost every game and missed out on a major trophy. It stings. We're exhausted and have a short turnaround. Recruitment hasn't been as good as it should and we're probably mentally struggling a little on the back of everything. I'm confident this team is still good and Nunez will be absolutely fine. Drama Queens will continue to cry but it doesn't really matter, I back Klopp to yet it right.

      I can for sure.

But it’s not as ****ed as everyone is saying. We could easily have won that. We don’t often stroll to victory at Goodson.

We need a bit of stability in selection. I’d drop Trent for a few games. We are so short in midfield, I never thought we’d be starting a big away game with Elliot and Carvalho. Milner is done - too slow.

May well be more of a battle than we have been used to. There are encouraging signs, but as ever we have City destroying everyone.

Has anyone noticed that Trent does not get outside of Mo anymore? Everything is does is a low percentage ball and put in from deep lying areas. It's a massive issue.

This really has 20-21 season written all over it.

It's not ****ed but what are your expectations? We will not be winning the league, top 4 should be grand but ****ing hell that's a drop in expectations. We have made a mistake this season, have stagnated in the midfield, are in transition across the front line and unfortunately we are paying the price. Relying on historically injury prone players was a ridiculous thing to do. We are still a great side with class players but we are just not functioning properly.

You can never say we will not be winning the league in early September. Particularly this season with the WC.

It’s not been a great start for sure, and if you want to give up (as everyone did in December last season) then that’s fine. That’s just not me. I’m not naive to put problems but many on here see pretty much zero positives- everyone’s ****e - and that’s just not true.

This is more standard for football for me. I’m used to this. So we dig in and see what happens. Feels like transition and we have a great age profile of players coming through.

In the end we were rather lucky to get a draw against a terrible side who narrowly avoided relegation and have started the season badly. Our keeper had as many difficult saves as theirs. I know some positive spin makes you happier after poor results and that is totally fine, but it doesn’t give you a reason to sneer at others. Our football is even more brutal than our results and you can’t expect the site to ignore all of that.

                    I’m not sneering?

We could have won that. We could have lost that. Players coming back from injury is encouraging. We are starting over in terms of rhythm and fluidity because of this.

I just don’t see the need to catastrophise - but this isn’t really the medium for rational analysis.

There’s no constructive discussion, just a deluge of how ****ed we are.

I'm not giving up ****ing hell man I'm just being realistic and going on information, data and history. City do not drop many points are we well know.
We are a weaker team without Mane, haven't strengthened an ageing midfield and are transitory in our play. This is nothing got to do with being hyperbole or giving up, merely lowering expectations because of the reality of the situation. We are still a quality side but when you have a start like this when we haven't even played any tough teams yet you have to be realistic.

Me and you disagree on most things outside of football and that's ok but this is absolutely spot on

But that’s what people feel they want/need to get off their chest right now. It hurts nobody, and if they can do that then crack on with their afternoon, all the better.

                              True.

But then I’ve got nobody to speak to other than (it would appear) Zapater, Fredo and Fierce (and Jaco!).

Hence why I’m saying I’ll leave you all to it

I just see it deferentlly. And Im not a ‘happy clapper’, there have been times when I have had times over the decades when I have thought we are ****ed. I just don’t feel that way right now.

                              We missed “Hendo” today

I think it was the laugh after the ‘leave you to it’ that I took as a sneer. You did sneer, admit it.
