completely agree with this. Taking up same space and making the same runs. Just to similar and Trent is not pushing past Mo and getting high up the pitch because the space is not there.

Could be worse - we could have given up a lead against villa and needed the ref to save us from defeat.

I assume they're going berserk on Blue Moon having drawn with the manager most likely to be sacked next..?

If it is anything like usual they will be blaming Jermaine Jenas, Alex Scott, The Moose, or god know what other broadcaster.

You are dead right about missing Hendo. I have no idea what he does but when he is out of the team we miss him big time.

This really does have the feeling of being a transition season. Maybe if we had spent more previously it would be easier.

Utd have Thursday night football to come yet. Varane is seriously injury prone so expect to see Maguire and wee Martinez as the centre back pairing for long periods. Casemiro and Erikson are 30 or over, expect a lot more McFred in the middle. They have no decent striker up front. For me they're finishing 6th or 7th.

I don't think I needed to type all this that out but the fact I did refers back to the volume setting.

Being outrun in a match is not a problem when you have 70 pct possession, it’s just the outcome because of that, running less with the ball.

Trent does still get outside of Mo but not as often as he is going more central sometimes now but the movement between Salah, Elliot and Trent is all coming from deliberate instruction to do that. To play in triangles and rotate with one another so it’s not really fair to say Elliot is blocking Salahs runs by taking up the same space.

It’s all in Pep Lijnders book - ‘we don’t play in positions, we play in triangles’

It a 2-1, 2-2 or 3-2 result would have also been fair and on another day with different luck might have been the case.

To me, it seems like lots of little factors are combining to lead to the sluggish start that has been seen. The main ones being:

                    1. Losing Mane - Diaz is good but he’s got quite a way to go before reaching Mane s level if he ever does. Sadio was world class and pretty much impossible to replace to the same standard he was.

                    2. Jota and Thiago injuries - two of the best players from last season

                    3. Fatigued / ageing stalwarts - Robbo and Trent haven’t been their usual level of consistency. Hendo, VVD and Milner all look slower than previous years.

Those 5 have been so crucial to what Klopp has achieved in the last 5 seasons and for different reasons they seem a bit jaded. Mentally, it cannot be easy to go again after 5 years of such high standards with very little break from football. It feels a little stale at the moment.

Even if there wasn’t, what a scummy thing to do. Much as I hate certain opposition players/managers, I do so in a football sense. Wouldn’t want to actually assault them ffs
