Not saying we are playing brilliantly. It's clear we aren't playing consistently well as a team at the moment (in transition and with the ball), but it's not that we've turned to a bad team over a few months. We've turned it around before and we will turn it around again. We've got to be in with the bad as well as the good. Might have well come back here when things are a bit more positive, it's all too depressing to read stuff on here at the moment. Trent has been the best right back in the world for a few seasons, now he's not good and should be played in midfield. Come on, we have brains. Are we winning?

Dele Alli was one of the most coveted players in the World at one point, now he's seconded to Turkey or something. **** happens.Originally posted by Fredo View PostNot saying we are playing brilliantly. For what its worth i think Trent needs withdrawn, but he's also definitely not the only issue - the team's confidence is on its knees. And it won't right itself this season.

Liverpool v Brighton (H) PL
Trent needed dropping weeks ago but Ramsey nowhere near ready or fit. Neco got sold. No cover, terrible decision in the summer not to get a midfielder of quality (Arthur still not ready to step up either)
Defence is fragile and every chance the opposition get, they target Trent.. and it works. Jürgen’s defence of him yesterday would have been fine if we didn’t leak so many goals, concede first every game and see the same thing happening time and time again.
No defending this performance at home to Brighton. They were far quicker, at it and moved us all over the place. VVD has gone from Rolls Royce to Robin Reliant.
Big few weeks or we will be struggling to get top four, let alone challenging for titles. That’s crazy to think about but four draws from seven games is just insane. It’s the draws that kill us. Two wins and two losses would have been better…

Yes, and he’s been very poor the last few weeks. Says a lot that we have our back up left back playing, substituted by 37 year old midfielder, and still they targeted Trent’s side the entire game.Originally posted by Fredo View PostTrent has been the best right back in the world for a few seasons, now he's not good and should be played in midfield. I’m not saying that Trent is finished as a right back, fully expect him to turn his form around, but he should be on the bench for a few games for sure- if we had a proper back up for the position…
Salahs another one- firmino was having a great game, on for a hat trick, and didn’t play over the international break (I assume?). Why is he being hooked and leaving Salah on? I get that Salah has a moments magic in him, but it hasn’t been happening for him this season yet… as others have said, why’s he immune to being subbed??I don't tip

Oh dear, now comparing his situation to Dele Ali.Originally posted by labourRed View PostDele Alli was one of the most coveted players in the World at one point, now he's seconded to Turkey or something. **** happens.

Trent has had ups and down before, similar situation that he's in now a couple of years ago when the whole team went on a rough patch. Look at the statistics and the breadth of Trent's game as a whole, not just the fact we concede a few goals and people target that right side and it's all down to him. For context, his position is usually so far advanced that sometimes it's down to the cover or as a team we're not covering the position.
As a team we're certainly not playing well, and a few players are not at their best, including Trent. I just hope like most of us that we'll turn the corner soon, as we've got more or less the same team as last year's.Are we winning?

I thought we played better and controlled the game from the 30th minute on until the first two subs. Seemed to lose control of the game just after Henderson and Tsimikas were subbed. Probably a decision that was made beforehand, to manage the game time of some players, but it definitely backfired somewhat. Are we winning?

I couldn’t wrap my head around why he’d change anything at that time. We were really knocking on the door. I know we got the third goal shortly after that, but let’s be honest, it was a lucky goal.
I’m no sports scientist or whatever, but find it hard to believe that tsmikas only had 60 min in his legs… and Jota was a big downgrade from firmino, he’d have gotten his hat trick if he stayed on. Imagine if Salah/jota/nunez were on for a hat trick and hooked on 60 min. Makes no sense (to me at least).I don't tip

Yeah we regained control and then lost shape when Harvey and Milner came on.Originally posted by Fredo View PostI thought we played better and controlled the game from the 30th minute on until the first two subs. We've got a lot of games coming up, this just highlights how short of options we are in the middle.Modifying post.

That was unforgiveable tbh. Just kill the game.
How frustrating that we were a point and a cunt hair from being invincible but instead we look like the confidence and ability has been pummelled out of us. I still think the end of last season has had a huge huge impact on us, and it's going to take a few more losses for us to snap out of it I'm afraidSack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge
