I think the ego's in this squad have gotten too big tbh and Klopp's too nice to put some of these guys in their place now. Theyve all been together too long and its all too 'matesy'. Its very tough to hold people accountable when that happens.

The midfield doing crazy levels of pressing, covering and recycling the ball allowed the FBs to bomb on though.

The full backs bombing on and being the chance creators took the pressure off of needing a midfield that created a lot.

But lose the mobility and solidity in the middle and everything else either has to adjust dramatically or just go to **** if they try to do the same things as before without having the midfield to cover for them.

Nah. Klopp knows his team needs to evolve and Pep has earned alot of trust as his assistant to date. The question is whether this apparent increased influence is well placed.

There were times last season where we could have played for 180 minutes and not scored a goal. We had no plan B or alternate way of playing. I admit I thought that when we signed Nunez, that would be the plan B. But maybe it's part of a whole shift in tactics which may mean we are less predictable to set up against.

The season starts on Tuesday for me. No more excuses (injuries, internationals etc..). We'll have a good pick of fit and ready players for the first time since start of the season really.

If the issues persist, I'm willing to cede and go with the narrative that there's more to play here than meets the eye.

At the moment, I see it as City got their Haaland and we didn't get our Tchouameni. It's sad to think the season will go to waste because of one signing.

We were so devastating because of our full backs, and they were able to BE so devastating because of the midfield that covered for them

That was unforgiveable tbh. Just kill the game.

How frustrating that we were a point and a cunt hair from being invincible but instead we look like the confidence and ability has been pummelled out of us. I still think the end of last season has had a huge huge impact on us, and it's going to take a few more losses for us to snap out of it I'm afraid

If we're short on confidence surely a few wins are needed for us to snap out of it, rather than more defeats.
