I was watching the match in a bar in Malaga, with no commentary and a 1 degree viewing angle, so my opinion is worthless.

But I thought Nunez performance was encouraging, similar to Haaland's in Charity Shield. Thought Jota was useful too and has us looking much better in attack since he returned.
I did as well, he was more involved and whilst didn't hit the back of the net did get himself into scoring positions.

He's a work in progress that's for sure but I think we'll start to see him come good.

I liked what I saw of Nunez there, he's trying a bit too hard which is to be expected but otherwise that was really encouraging. I'm really comfortable the goals will come. We're a team in transition which is making all the players look a bit sub-par at the moment.

I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

          Yup, agree with that.

Feel like there are a few fans out there looking at him and thinking why's he not banging them in like Haaland which doesn't help either.

Agree, he is constantly making very good runs and is such an energy bundle, Nunez will come good for sure just a matter of time. But we could have used a goal from open play though, just for a confidence booster.

Regarding the performance in general I don't know how much we can take from it, it's not a very good barometer but it was nice to see change in tactics and the players seemed a bit more vibrant. Not looking forward to Arsenal, but not dreading it quite as much.
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Yeah he is slightly more of a work in progress than Haaland, but has the raw ability.

I love his attitude. He looks like the sort of player who could be epic once he finds his groove and starts banging them in. Made some nice runs and Salah played him in well a few times. Every game I have seen him play he seems to get 3 or 4 chances at least again encouraging.

Seems to be getting good support at the games which is good for him, he just needs to avoid the internet and forums!!!
              Modifying post.

I'm in two minds with Nunez, on one hand he's not like a striker we've had since someone like Benteke, he doesn't have control of the ball like our other forwards, he looks a bit clumsier etc etc BUT what is encouraging is that he does panic the opposition, he does make things happen, he is a willing running and worker.

I just think it is going to take some getting used to - even from a fan watching him perspective.

None - their fans were among the quietest we've had for a while at a Champions League game too. Nowhere near Ajax a couple of weeks ago.

And their much vaunted "display" in the away end turned out to be a load of blue plastic flags and a banner saying "ultras". Dead hard

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

this 424 formation worked a treat against 'lower' quality opposition init? perhaps stick with it (against such quality)?

Yep Nunez was both getting on the end of chances and making chances. Keeper made a few good saves from his attempts.

He really seems to be good at getting into good positions and getting a shot on target off. Hopefully one or two of those going in soon will lead to a nice streak of goals for him.

Starting to think he might not have to **** himself.

Might get a bit further with him if you buy him dinner first.
