I dont think we are playing well up front at all. 2 set piece goals against very poor opposition. I think we really need to up our game. That said we creared many chances and their keeper did very well. Perhaps Firmini woold work better in a 4 up front. I was not sure where Jota was supposed to fit in

I think that we need to get a good understanding between Nunez and Diaz in particular. I feel that Diaz has the creative flair to create the chances, if there is someone for him to play the ball to, Nunez is the more traditional CF so really needs to be in the centre and getting goals. My instinct is that Diaz won't get as many goals as Mane, but Nunez in principle should be getting more than who we have had playing the central role in the past two years so the number should even themselves out that way. I feel that will come sooner or later, the development takes time, what would have been nice would have been if Salah was firing on all cylinders while those two were getting up to speed, but he doesn't look the same player he was since the ACN.Originally posted by Rich View PostI'm in two minds with Nunez, on one hand he's not like a striker we've had since someone like Benteke, he doesn't have control of the ball like our other forwards, he looks a bit clumsier etc etc BUT what is encouraging is that he does panic the opposition, he does make things happen, he is a willing running and worker.
I just think it is going to take some getting used to - even from a fan watching him perspective. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Having fully expected loads, I saw not a single shred of aggro outside before or after, nor in the ground. I guess as they didn't have a sniff, they didn't have an opportunity to out themselves in our end, but it was fine. I met a group of totally sound Rangers fans on the way up to the ground. Their end was disappointing though. Made some noise pre kick off, then next to nothing after.Originally posted by RedReet View PostAny trouble in the stands or around the stadium? Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Good to hear. Was certain there would be some trouble and another no win situation for our fans. Hopefully the return leg is equally uneventful.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHaving fully expected loads, I saw not a single shred of aggro outside before or after, nor in the ground. And their much vaunted "display" in the away end turned out to be a load of blue plastic flags and a banner saying "ultras". Dead hard

That and some offensive laminated marketing collateral that they left about the city
They are bottom feeders.Modifying post.

Was that confirmed by anyone other than the dodgy twitter ****?
Seems to be a lot of people saying that it was the twitter attention seeker that started the rumour to push his sad ego.
Know quite a few that were at the match and who live in the city centre and they saw none of it. Concert Square was full of Rangers supporters last night and by all accounts it was a mix of most having a good time with a few knobs doing the sectarian and Royal chants.
Rangers fans were meant to have policed some of their own dickheads that tried the always the victim **** tooI don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I was at the game yesterday and judging by rangers social media they were going to light the place up. I thought they were ok but Ajax and inter last year were louder.
As for the game we didn’t get out of second gear. Rangers just came to defend so it’s hard to make any judgements on the 424 but we created plenty against a lowish block. Darwin a touch unlucky not to score.

Is it just me, or is anyone else confused why he is called Nuniez in every commentary? Perhaps that is the prefered name, but the name doesn't have that extra i... like calling Suarez Suariez
Surely isn't it 'Noonez'? I think this is affecting his ability to hit said cows arse with said banjoLast edited by slaine; 05-10-22, 10:18 PM.
