That would be my starting 11, but not that formation for me. Standard back 4, 2 DMs providing cover when the FBs get forwards, Thiago in behind the front 3 pulling the strings.

Only change I might make is giving Bobby a start and moving Nunez more out to the left.

Gerrard by the time his 22nd birthday came around had played in 139 competitive games for Liverpool.

Jones is on course to be on 76 by the time he hits 22 in a few months.

Unfair to make the comparison though as very different types of player stylisitically plus Jones was coming through at a time when we had prime Henderson, Wijnaldum, Fabihno and Thiago in the team.

We had the likes of Thompson, Murphy, and Crock Redknapp getting regular games during Gerrard's break out season.

That is not to say Jones is at the 21 or 22 yo Gerrard's level. Just that it is more difficult for a promising looking youngster to break into the midifled of the past two or three years, than for a generational talent to break into a midfield containing Danny Murphy and David Thompson.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

On the other hand, Jones does have better players around him that Gerrard did so it should be easier for him to cover his bit of the pitch with a plum.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I think this'll be a much tougher game than last week's, and that we might not win it. Nevertheless, I had been thinkig that, if we don't feel able to play Carva and Elliott in this game, they won't get many games. Jurgen agrees.

With an atmosphere from hell - we MUST NOT concede early, keep the crowd quiet
