Awful performance by a team missing 6 or 7 starters

Not sure what we could have done to change things mid game, but it wasn't what we did.

Trent more likely to assist/threaten than Milner but Jones did nothing, Milner should have replaced him IMO

I didn't understand why we took Firmino off for Ox when we needed a goal, Firmino and Salah are our only goal threats other than from set pieces

no idea why Hendo & TAA did not start or at least TAA at RB & Millie in midfield, for at least the 1st 50mins.

Carvalho, Jones and Elliott should not be starting as a midfield trio, two of them at a stretch, nowhere near ready. Yet again disrespecting the lower teams and ending up with egg on our faces. Such a shame.

The problem is lack of midfield and forward options at the moment. With injuries and attempts to manage minutes of the other guys the squad is short of numbers. Elliott is the only one who should be starting PL/CL games at the moment. Jones looked a prospect but has lost his way the last couple of years perhaps due to injury. Carvalho is very raw, he seems to be being played down the left now Diaz and Jota are out, but IMO he's not ready to be starting games at this level, he would be better used as an impact sub. It feels like he has a couple of moments of quality in the games but isn't making much of an impact (when starting) then gets hooked after about an hour, I feel like there have to be better ways to start the games
