I can only call it as I see it - if I think we're all over the place I'll say it, and if I think we've created an excellent move I'll say it. What you won't catch me doing is telling people to keep schtum if their view of the play is different to mine. That would kill the place.Originally posted by Fierce View PostNo, no-one said **** all in the second half. Which is precisely my point
First half, we weren't great against a team that played very well. Rubbish? I don't know about that. We can't always play like Ajax 95
I concede. Perhaps its me. Perhaps we are absolutely **** all of the time except when we fluke a good passage of play or score a totally undeserved goal
If you think this place is negative on match day take a look at the other LFC forums. And if you're psyche can handle it (mine can't, I'm a creature of light) suit up, put salts under your nostrils and dive into Grand Old Team. I also wondered if there was an offside earlier on? They have to start showing it don’t they and explaining the chat? Nobody has a clue otherwise.Originally posted by Fierce View PostBit I caught suggested there's no way if the player is playing it backwards; though I don't know if that's a rule or notModifying post.

We were really poor until the first goal, it seemed certain that Ajax would score first, somehow they didn't we got a goal against the run of play and that turned the game, we were much better after that and killed the game quite quickly after that. Great result and good second half performance, through to the knock out stages that's all we could ask for. Hopefully it will boost confidence for the league games and we can put a run of wins togetherThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's on the BT highlights.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI also wondered if there was an offside earlier on? They have to start showing it don’t they and explaining the chat? Nobody has a clue otherwise.
Kane was offside when the ball was headed to him. He looked onside because of the the spurs player who headed it had his body position in front of the ball so it looked like he played it backwards. However, when they drew the lines from where the ball actually was when it was headed, Kane's knee was inches offside.Last edited by rudedog; 26-10-22, 11:15 PM.

He did head it backwards, but it deflected forwards off the defender to Kane. As the deflection was accidental and not an attempt to play the ball it still counts as a pass to Kane, who was ahead of the ball when it was passed. It’s correct, but an unusual situation so has caused much confusion.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

It was offside from the original pass, not the deflection. There’s nothing in the rules that says ya can’t be offside if the ball is passed backwards. It’s just very uncommon that you would get the ball if your standing in an offside position and the ball is passed backwards, so we never really see it happen, too often..I don't tip

The rules don't specifically mention backward passes but this is generally covered by being offside if you are closer to the goal line than the ball and the second last opponent. If you are behind the ball whether the ball is played backwards or forwards you can't be offside.Originally posted by Mr Pink View PostIt was offside from the original pass, not the deflection. I think the issue here is that the camera angle is slightly misleading and that Kane is offside because he's ahead of the ball when the pass is made but the camera angle makes it appear that he is behind the ball. The Spurs player's body position also looks makes it appear that the ball goes backwards, Kane is behind his teammate but just ahead of the ball.Last edited by Exiled_red; 27-10-22, 07:58 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

In what way have I contradicted this?Originally posted by rudedog View Post
They literally showed the lines from when the ball was played to Kane's knee, the deflection happened after this.
To clarify, by “it still counts as” was referring to the header.
