Yep. I hate the constant expansion of tournaments, the blatant crookedness of the sports wash clubs, the whole Qatar WC business, the inevitably of PL games being played abroad. Just everything being compromised for more and more money.

I’ve already half an eye on the end of Klopp’s reign being when I wrap it up.

Its a hard thing to pull out of something you've invested so much of your life into.

Anyway, there's a long way to go before we're sold to an oligarch.

You would have interest from other asian countries be it Corporations, state sponsored groups/individuals or stand alone billionaires.

Then throw in any Eastern europan groups/invidiuals, western European one and US ones.

Yeah, but it’s already drifting for me. I think that’ll only intensify as the game gets more and more compromised, regardless of our own ownership situation.

****ing hell. I struggled to give up tabs and I hadn’t been on a 40 plus year emotional rollercoaster with them. They were literally killing me.

I’ll bet every club had threads like this full of idealists. How easy will it be to cut ties? To divorce. To not care when previously you cared a lot (yeah you bet we did).

The idealist in me says that will be it. The realist in me says the kids are vested in this, how easy will it be to convince them (that said they are fully clued up in such things). We go and watch Hearts already so I guess Od try to focus on that.

                I hope it doesn’t happen.

The game is already ****ed and this news just confirms it. You’ve got to cheat to compete.

How do you stop following/supporting the club you have followed for decades...it's an initial reaction but everyone will still support the club in some way... How else is Klopp supposed to challenged on par with City/chelsea and newcastle

If someone like the Newcastle or City owners comes in, then quite easily.

We all have individual lines, and for some, myself very much included, that would be the line if crossed that takes them away from the club.

If blood money is the only way anyone can consistently compete, then it's become a sport that holds no appeal for me. That's how I'd walk away. Like Pepe said anyway, it's been a gradual erosion of love for the game. Nearly everything about it stinks. I'm not pretending it would be easy, can't just turn it off like a tap, but I would want out and I don't think I'd have much trouble in walking away.

depends on what lengths you go to support the club...but your interest will remain

I wonder what the reaction at the ground would be if there was oil money interest? That visible support have far more influence than the likes of us.

Yep this is more the point i was trying to make ..i mean if you regularly go to watch games then yeah giving up that is the most obvious way ... FWIW Klopp would also stand down if we got owners as mentioned in your post...But the game has gone as we all knew it as kids

Yep - sadly a load of 40 plus year old sad sacks who barely have a single member going to the game quitting probably doesn’t change much. The club is a global concern, and, even more sadly I’ll bet a vast majority of the supporters (let’s say the new supporters) would give a ****.

It’s the Legacy support that want to follow the ideal.

I know quite a few United fans who jibbed it when the Glazers took over - some a few years later. Some replaced it with completely different/new interests, some started going to and getting involved with FC United, some started watching our local non-league club (North West Counties Premier Division). It's definitely doable, even if it would be difficult, and even a bit painful and sad.
