I think we have a downer on loans here because people tend to think that players who go out on loan and don't come back and get into the squad are down to the loan move, I think the harsh reality is that the players who went on loan and didn't come back weren't good enough and I don't think I have seen anything from them since they left to suggest otherwise (Wilson, Brewster, Woodburn, Ojo, Hoever, Kent etc...)

The likes of Elliott and Quansah have come back from loans and established themselves, Bradley could be in the process of that, Carvalho and Morton are probably being evaluated after their loan moves.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He’s still miles away from being 1st choice

not sure miles TBH & he is judged again st TAA for sure. He is an able FB that would be a mainstay in a team 6th-12th in prem, altough i agree for elite teams still has some learning to do

This would be a valuable experience for Ben as he’s shown he’s fast & can beat a man but there’s been no end product tbh. He needs to start scoring or at least rack up assists.

Think he is not first choice but if he continues to play as he did last season, then he is certainly going to be good enough to compete for that starting berth if TAA does not play to a high level.

Think it is great we have players like him, Elliot and Quansah there nipping at the heels of the more established starters

Bradley isn't at the level that trent was (at his best) but he is much better full back than trent is now!

I think it may depend on where he sees Trent playing.

Also, his contract situation may have a bearing... but Id start Bradley at RB because Trent cant be arsed based on tbe last two seasons... sorry Trent. You aint good enough any more. You can go to Madrid and do an Owen... maybe the Mancs will bring you back and pick the splinters out of your arse

I get the logic of what you are saying, but even if TAA has it in his head he is leaving next summer, he may well have a similar final season to what Alonso gave us.

Would start the season with TAA at RB and if he does not perform we then have the luxury of being able to bench him and play Bradley instead.

Bradley then plays well enough to keep that starting berth, that means TAA is a sub for his final season.

TBH would have the same attitude even if TAA signs a new contract. Play better than the guy after your spot and you stay a starter.

Same goes for any of the senior CBs that Quansah is looking to compete with and with anyone in the centre that Elliot is breathing down the neck off.

Think if we get to September and we are still hearing words like " Contract talks for TAA/Salah/VVD may begin soon" then we need to start accepting that whichever ones have not signed are instead looking to leave on a free.

Re: Doak - certainly not shown enough to be considered as part of the 1st team squad IMO.

A season's loan at a strong Championship club would do him wonders.

With Robbo’s injuries, is there a case for playing Trent at LB? It may suit him a bit more with the ball, given that his preference now is to come inside into midfield and under lap. Could suit him as he’d be cutting inside onto his favoured foot and would open up the big diag to Salah on the right. It would also work better with our wide left forwards who tend to stay wider (where as on the right Trent cutting in is forcing Salah away from goal). He’d also have Virgil behind to cover for him when he inevitably knocks-off.

Seen nothing to say hes liverpool quality. Sell and focus on someone better. His future is Sunderland at best.

                            Bit harsh on Trent that.

Bradley had some great, some good and some average games last season - he’s still pretty inexperienced and has got a long way to go IMO. He’s also been pretty honking so far in preseason (but we shouldn’t judge too harshly as it’s only preseason).

Wait, you know Bradley is white and doesn't play for Man Utd right? Also Bradley isn't spelled Wan-Bissaka.
