MOTD2 commentator said it took a deflection too. Annoying.

can see clearly in that clip the Villa defender never got a touch

So I’m going back to my original comment of it being struck perfectly (before BG1973s interference)

48 seconds at half speed is the best angle.
Another angle confirming it wasn't going wide.

He has an elite mentality like those guys. Super confident, a total winner, with just the right sprinkling of ****house which we sometimes lack.

He is Playing a different game to Mount. I’d not really heard of him so again you have to take your hat off to the scouting team.

The work rate from him is insane isn't it.

Yep it’s one of those half volleys that just flies. Such a sweet strike.

You might be right looking at it; i thought it had hit that last defenders leg and veered in, but on reviewing it doesn't seem to. I hadn't watched it slowed down before, so it might be that skip of the ground that confused my eyes (and it definitely hit the ground, not having that Thiago 'ground effect' ****e again ).

    Some player.
Must admit I hadn't noticed that, but after reading your comment I went back and had a look and it does seem like it was going wide until that villa player stuck out a leg. Be surprised if the "dubious goals" folk don't take that away from him. Cracking strike and great technique tho.

Lovely goal today - struck it perfectly (think someone in the match thread mentioned Thiago-esque which was spot on).

Looking at how well him and Alexis have settled, I'm now really gutted that we let Fabinho go - I think we would have seen him return to his best form with these guys doing the running for him, Fab would have just been there to hoover up anything that got through.
Yea in hindsight, Fab for 40 mil doesn’t look bad but doesn’t look great. I think he would have been back in form too.

    Szobo is a genius though
