Funny how a lot of people thought that Dom would miss out when we signed Wirtz.

Christ we'd have been ****ed without him this year.

To be fair, I think a lot of that was based on the very good form of both MacAllister and Gravenberch last season. This season Szobo has gone up a few levels whereas the other two, especially MacAllister dropped off.

Plus I think a lot of folk were thinking we would have Wirtz as an AM with a front three ahead of him rather than him being part of the front three.

Yeah lot of the bog boys will be sniffing, he has been one of the best performers across all the leagues, class player.

His only real weakness is his short passing. Very close to being a complete player.

Need to get his new contract sorted asap - he will be free to talk to other clubs next year and on current form he will have no shortage of top teams looking to get him on a free. Madrid being the danger given their propensity for engineering these situations.

Though he did comment recently that talks were under way and that they were going well.
