And I though Wirtz would keep him out.
The only player who likes like a champion

And to think we all wondered if he'd get any game time after our new signings. He's the only one that deserves to be on the pitch.

That's my fearOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostThe only player doing the business this season. Shifted from pillar to post but still putting in 100% effort every week while the team around him don't, the squad owe him a collective apology. Hope he doesn't get disillusioned about it.
Tbh he really should be captain now. He's the only one that plays like it and looks like he cares.
Obviously they won't take it off Virg, but Mo shouldn't be assistant. He's not a leader at all, he's not vocal, he doesn't do any media unless he wants a contract and he's extremely selfish on the pitch.

Yeah an absolute class act and a fantastic attitude of work rate and courage.

I’ve noticed that about him a lot, even last season. He has to play in that role so he can start the press and organise it. The defence starts with him.Originally posted by danperkins View PostDid anyone see multiple times in the Madrid game when Szob pressed if the ball went past him, he was shouting at other players to close down and press. Two or three occasions he was berating players for not closing down the space quick enough.
Pure captain material, an absolute machine and a leader.

He wasn't just berating, he was telling players where to be so he could set his traps too. Like you say, pure captain material.

Dom has been putting in some fantastic performances showing an incredible work rate, just hope we can find a solution to him running out of steam in the second half of the season (along with Alexis and Grav).

I'm not disputing that, just this was something that we have been doing for a while so presumably the next captain is more likely to come from that group...Originally posted by BigChief View PostCaptaining his national side from a young age shows his mettle for the LFC job. I would say he's ahead of a few on your 'leadership group' list.
I would have assumed he might have been one to include in the group given he captains his national team.

Is he in the leadership group? Not that not being in there rules him out as it's probably a couple of years away.Originally posted by peterbread View PostNext Liverpool captain?
Last I remember was that we had a leadership group of 6 one of whom left last summer leaving VVD, Robbo, Salah, Alisson and MacAllister. Presumably a 6th person has taken the spot based on stuff I think VVD said I assumed it was Gomez but haven't seen anything 'official' like we have sometimes seen previously.
Given the ages and/or contract lengths of many of those players you would expect the leadership group to change significantly over the next couple of years, only really MacAllister (or possibly Alisson as GKs play longer) who would likely long term successors.
