Grav being assessed for a hamstring injury after coming off at halftime for the Dutch - excellent

    Comment

Sky Sports News understands the midfielder is fine and was withdrawn as a precaution, with the team already 3-0 up and the long season ahead for club and country firmly in mind.

After his side beat Finland 4-0 on Sunday in the end, Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman said: "[Gravenberch] indicated he had some minor hamstring problems.

"Of course, we didn't take any risks with that."

        Good to have him back.

He makes a huge difference to how we play.

Yeah having him back in there made a huge difference to the way we played
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Does anyone notice that having him back made a huge difference to how we played?.

I have noticed that this season he is definitely playing a more advanced role and is often ahead of the ball when we lose it. I know that we are, more often than not, playing against a low block but I’d welcome the stability that he brings when he’s deep. We have enough firepower to trouble the opposition without him, as long as we remain patient.
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

No, but what I HAVE noticed is that, when he plays, we play differently. Hugely.

I said before the transfer window started we need a new centreback and DM as a priority. Not playing a proper DM who is prepared to sit and protect the backline is naive, tactically. Whenever Grav does not play we are awful. And him pushing further forward is also causing us problems at the back.

No idea why we didnt move Endo on and look to bring in someone Slot did trust, especially as we were looking to blow 100m the previous summer on Caicedo and Lavia.

It just baffles me as Grav seems to be our most important player.

The way we are so open to the long ball and quick break is a massive worry...
Or insistence on playing such a high line is crazy, especially with aging legs on our centre backs.
Our centre backs are further forward than most clubs DM so it creates a further issue.
Our dm isn't covering when we are attacking, so the dm and cb's all get bypassed with a quick counter.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

We so good at winning headers with virg and konate but it's the second ball that seems to drop to the opposition every time, putting us under lots of pressure. We need people in the deep midfield positions after turn arounds.

I feel that Virg at least tries to find a player, but Ibou just seems to be happy to get his head to the ball first, and doesn't try to direct it so much.

Yeah, but that would require the ability to know where they are AND the skill to be able to direct to them - he's no Virgil, that's for sure!
We are here for a good time not a long time....

The balance is off and it’s to easy for the opposition to get out with a simple long ball avoiding the press as everyone is so high up the pitch.
