We couldn't have afforded all of Alexis, Grav and Szob if we bought Caicedo so, as good as a player as he is, no way would we have won the league

We had already bought Alexis and Dom when we bid for Caicedo, and then Lavia. We only went for Grav after that.

We already had Alexis and Szob on board when we tried for Caicedo. So effectively would have been him instead of Grav.

Oh I don't remember that - can I change my answer then?

Definitely my player of the season .Although we should split it in 4 for McAllister,VVD, Salah andd GRav.

I would give it to Grav, Because nobody saw this level of player coming this season.

Shows how well the team is set up and how balanced it is that there are plenty of options for player of the year.

He can be young player of the year, and we split the player of the year among the 3 grown ups

Grav is too old for that sadly.

Yeah you have to have been 21 or under at the start of the season, they changed if from a 23 a few years ago, Gravenberch turned 22 last May.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Grav, most highly match rating wise consistently, thus player of the season for me imo, coupled with the fact as others have pointed out above, had to move to a new role deeper, but revelation wise, imo became world class (made a point of this early in the season, that if he keeps up his early performances, he'll be deemed world class)...player of the season for us

Yeah I agree actually. Mo, Macca, Virg & Ali have been incredible for most of the season but all had dips whereas Grav was more consistent in his altered midfield role. He filled a huge hole that all of us thought would derail our season but instead he became our hero.

Given his age, and inexperience in the Premier League and in the position, this has been a phenomenal contribution, albeit somewhat serendipitous due to the Zubimendi business. He got us out of a big hole.

And for someone so young he’s won 5 championship medals now which is outrageous.
