Saw these stats that show what a great season he’s had. These are for the every team in the premier league.

    1st for Interceptions - 57
    2nd for Possession won - 182
    2nd for Possession won in middle 3rd - 103
    3rd for successful passes - 1583
    4th for ball carry progress - 2385m

He’s not going to go in with big crunching tackles but he clearly reads the game very well and knows where to be and wins the ball in good areas and can tackle too. He should only get stronger physically as he gets used to the position and the physicality of the league now he’s playing regularly which was one of people’s criticism the season before. Also considering his age as well.

Great all round midfielder. Maybe a bit greedy but if he can develop a bit of a long range shot because he often gets into those positions but never really has a go.

And that's despite him being overplayed and fatigued in some parts of the season.

On a related note, a Chelsea fan was bigging up Caicedo with similar stats. Pretty similar numbers to be fair. Except for two: £105million + 1 PL Trophy.
      One tit for another.

Fully deserved. He was peerless in midfield first half of season. Scary to think how good he might be in a few years.

Only 23 and had some ups and downs in his career already and has come through them showing he has the mentality to match his ability.

The midfield look set for years to come with the age they are all at. Exciting times ahead.

Not me, I thought this summer he’d be off to Lazio on loan He had an unbelievable first half to the season and he faded as he got overplayed and teams figured him out a bit.

If you press him he’ll kill you with a turn and get away from you but if you stand off him he’s not as effective. He’s still very young and he will learn and get better.

I would still like a more defensive forward passer in the midfield rotation (hello Adam Wharton ) and that would give Grav even more freedom to get around the pitch. I’d also like him to use his size more and over power opponents. I want a lot but he’s got the talent to be the very best

He actually played quite well when he first came into the club and scored a few goals. He wasn’t **** at all, it was always clear he had talent but not clear he’d end up being an incredible defensive mid
