Anyone got the vid of his pace against Adringa towards the corner flag? He's a locomotive. Gets faster with more distance.

They definitely targeted that right side with Bradley and Quansah but they carried on doing what they’ve done all year. So much composure for a young inexperienced player. Let all the media gush over Mainoo at the scum and let our youngsters carry on under the radar.

Insane how no one had any clue about what this guy was like and we all thought we needed another CB. Hopefully players like Sepp Van den Berg, Owen Beck, Tyler Morton and Luke Chambers can follow in both of their paths.

I think we need another CB. Quansah has come though at exactly the right time to replace Matip. But this is how I see it:

Konate is a great player but I feel with the little injuries he seems to constantly pick up the way to manage his is only have him playing 1 game a week and ensure that he is fit and fresh for that game, it essentially means in that scenario we need 3 first choice CBs VVD + Konate/Quansah (for arguements sake). VVD is 33 in the summer, so you probably also have to ask the question how much longer can he play 2 games a week maybe a full season next year but beyond that is certainly pushing it IMO. If we get to the stage that VVD can't play 2 games a week we are using all 4 CBs on an almost constant rotation, it doesn't give us any real fall back options (other than to rotate we 3 instead of 4) if someone gets injured and is out for a while.

Hasn't looked out of place for one second since coming in. Has a worldie beside him to learn from too.

Would he pass the no knobheads test? He has baggage for sure, but is clearly a talent. Is he one of those players that comes with an entourage of hangers on? Genuinely don’t know.

Perhaps in that case we give Matip a 1 year extension? Maybe cheaper than bringing in a backup, although its a coin flip on whether he will be fit
I think Matip's race is run here. He's a legend at the club and rightfully so but we can't rely on him.

We have three excellent CB to play alongside VVD, one more would be needed though, especially if Alonso joins and implements three at the back. Matip would excel in that if he could stay fit.

I think that’s a great idea. Certainly cheaper than bringing someone new in and it will add some experience for the youngsters to learn from too. Both Konate and Quansah have shown they can copy a marauding Matip run through the midfield.

We’ve still got some loanees to return who could add to the squad. Even though they played in the lower leagues Quansah and Bradley came back ready to make the step up. We usually all think a loan to a championship team or a premier league team is a must but those two show differently.

All depends on who the new manager wants to bring in. And one or two of our senior players might **** off as well - if they get a big offer then it might be the right time for them with Jurgen also leaving.

Such a pity that Jurgens leaving as this team could go on and do something class
