Well it's not like the ref thought he would try and make up for it with his decision the rest of the game...Originally posted by Irishnev View PostThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

How much do you think tribalism prevents things changing on VAR type issues? Instead of laughing that this happened to us most other football fans should be thinking that this could have happened to them* and that we as football fans don't want this ****ty system we want something that works, but the divide and rule means there is little pressure on the authorities to do anything.
All that will happen is there will be an investigation, they will say pay a bit more attention, Darren England will be stood down for a couple of weeks and in a month or so it will all be forgotten about.
* I should say we are probably equally guilty of this on the past, but I can't think of another VAR incident as bad as this, the only other thing that compares it the time they forgot to turn on the goal line tech a couple of years backLast edited by Exiled_red; 01-10-23, 08:52 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Not going to happen, they should have done similar when they forgot to turn the goal line tech on a couple of years ago ( I think it was a Villa game but could be wrong). That is the precedent for letting it stand IMO.Originally posted by Assassin View PostThis cannot be allowed to stand. The FA/PL need to grow a set and declare the game null and void
Also with all the mistakes they make the season would never end if games had to be replayed

Absolutely.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostAlso feel that the club really need to go hard after VAR/PGMOL/The FA/PL over this, we have had some poor decisions over the years but this is whole other level stuff.
Throw the ****ing book at them and send every top QC getting the game replayed.
Theres decisions going against you and then there's THIS. Its farcical. **** happens in most games, missed pens, missed reds, iffy offsides etc. This was a goal, that the VAR thought was a goal and for whatever ****ing reason was just not given on field. That categorically should not ****ing happen. Then you add everything else that sweaty little bald cunt missed/or gave against us and you cant possible convince me they don't have an agenda against us.
Im livid. Ive never been so ****ing angry after a game of football. To the point where im genuinely asking myself why bother. We're constantly on the receiving end of this incompetence, the club do nothing about it and why put myself through it any more. We've lost leagues by 1 point twice because of bogus decisions before and it feels like this is going to burn all the way to the end of the season now.
Club needs to grow some balls, lawyer up and go for the ****ing throat of these cunts."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Couldn’t even type yesterday I was so fuming. From the first red card decision, Hooper completely lost control of the game. He lurched from error to error with every decision. There is literally no excuse for the ‘alleged’ (which is bull****) miscommunication between ref and VAR… how can all this super technology hang on the incompetence of two individuals… that just doesn’t make sense to have single points of failure like this.
Yellow cards galore some valid, some not. The sheer incompetence and inconsistency week in week out is what really grinds my gears. How can we see VVD sent off for the exact same tackle as VDV on Gomez. Salah blown up for a foul when Spurs defender lost control of the ball in his own box, Jota booked for a Spurs player tripping himself up, Then getting a churlish second. What the **** is the refereeing quality this season, it’s worse than at any point… and PGMOL is led by such a massive whopper in Webb that all credibility and accountability is done. And the icing on the cake, players or managers can’t question or criticise decisions or they get banned or fined. I mean, what the actual **** is this **** these days…
Absolutely fuming and still livid about everything yesterday… unbelievable.

You're wrong, the Spurs player manipulated the ball at the last second and Jones' foot then rolls over the top and it makes contact. No way there's intent and no way it's reckless and out of control.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostJones deserved the red. It’s not the 90s, they’re always red, whatever a load of players from the 90s might say about it.
The offside was very dubious, but the ref didn’t flag it. He gave one wrong booking against us (jota’s first), big deal. Far too many people looking for an easy scapegoat rather than addressing what actually happened.
You can see his foot is at ball height until it's moved and his momentum takes his foot over and to the side. The initial movement is to side foot it, not studs up. A yellow is fair but not a red.

I think questions also need to be asked how we can have match officials that are being employed by the owners of a rival club.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostOn an unrelated note:

So gets back from a side hustle in the middle east yesterday, potentially jetlagged, is VAR official today, doesn't notice that the goal was disallowed, even though the flag went up, the players don't celebrate, and the system presumably tells him he is checking a disallowed goal. You do have to question if tiredness, jetlag etc are factors in this, if so it's not just this decision but his role in officiating the whole match that is undermined. But the bigger question is why is he allowed to go and be involved in games in the middle East that are affecting his ability to officiate games here?
Massive conflict of interest.

What has not been mentioned also is that the initial spurs players drags jones arm & he is then slightly off balance; small margins like that affect the whole playOriginally posted by Fosterbloke View PostYou're wrong, the Spurs player manipulated the ball at the last second and Jones' foot then rolls over the top and it makes contact. So, you get told they have ****ed up massively; so surely as a human being your natural response would be to not double down & think **** it lets give every descision against the team screwed over. Surley if Hooper was aware & i bet he was, unless you have an agenda you try to even it up? not send off two players & book a **** load more......
its dodgy as ****
