Not good enough, I wonder if anything has being done with regards to coaching to address this? If only he could tweak that final moment we would have some player on our hands. Unfortunately he doesn’t appear to have the technical ability to finish off these chances. Some might say he is unlucky, ie hitting the keepers leg today, others would argue if he hit the ball anywhere but straight at the keeper it’s a goal 9/10.

I think football has become poncy.
One nil down at home, virgil is winning every header. Why would you not say. Stay up for the last 15. Are we too good for this? It has worked for many teams including utd. But hey we have our footballing principle. You know what? **** your principles. Throw the kitchen sink and let loose. Losing at a wimper is unforgivable. Didn't do anything. This is on the management team.

Problem with benching Salah and Darwin is that the three we then start is not full of goals and assists at all.
For my money the three to start most often together for the remainder of the season are Salah, Jota and Darwin.
Salah on the right, Darwin on the left and Jota in the middle.
Then figure out what type of new attackers we need to bring in once the new manager is in.
If we do get Amorim and he does look to set up his attack with us like he does at Sporting, then wingers are out eventually anyway as his teams do not use wingers flanking the striker.
We would instead be looking for AMs or CFs to play behind the striker.
If he comes and if he uses his previous ways to set up an attack of course.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Not quite the same thing but our conversion rate as a team is well behind our direct rivals.
Conversion rate being what it sounds like as it is the % of your shots at/on goal that end up becoming actual goals.
We can use the very flawed big chance stat as a stick to beat individuals with but the team conversion at present is at 8.1%.
We are also the team that takes the most shots in the league and by some distance.
The league average is 8.9%.
Arsenal have a team conversion rate of 10.8%
Man City have a team conversion rate of 10.1%
The top two in the league for conversion rates are Newcastle and Villa with 12.2% and 11.5%

Another somewhat eye catching stat for me is the distribution of league goals as in how many come from defenders, midfielders and attackers.
Of the top six teams, we are the team with the least spread of goals throughout the team as in we are far more reliant on our attackers being the source of our goals whereas the other five teams have their midfields and defences scoring a greater % of their overall goals.
Basically means that if you can shut our front line down we have less of a chance of hurting you from other parts of the team.
We have the lowest amount of goals scored by defenders in the top six and the second lowests amount of gaosl scored by midfielders.
We do have the highest scoring forward line in the league though.

If Jota is fit and able to play, this would be my preferred front three as well, with Jota and Nunez, as they did prior to Jota getting injured, switching around as and when.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View Post

No offence to Diaz, but him and Nunez as a pairing does not seem to work as well, so I'd rotate them as well, if Nunez tires, bring on Diaz or vice-versa.

Elliot and Carvalho could benefit from that system, Elliot especially as we know he has the ability to play at the top level.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostProblem with benching Salah and Darwin is that the three we then start is not full of goals and assists at all.
