Long term Caicedo will probably be a better player, he is younger and looks to have all the qualities of a top class DM, yes he is struggling at the moment but seems to have a higher ceiling, but that is largely dependent on him reaching his potential. Endo is the better player at the moment, he is at his peak, and while he may have a couple more years there, his level will likely drop off in the not too distant future. Reality of the situation is Endo is a (relatively short term signing) whereas Caicedo is a long term signing for Chelsea (and would have been for us had he come here) although you would have expected him to make an instant impact in either side.

I doubt many fans in the summer would have said Endo is a better player than Caicedo and most would have probably liked to have seen Caicedo in an LFC shirt as most concerns I saw were about the price rather than the player. Which is the better deal depends on what happens over the next few years and how you judge it
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

A large part of it also depends on the team that they’re playing in. Caicedo is playing for a rubbish team. If he’d ended up with us, I reckon he’d be putting performances at a higher level than Endo has. And Endo has been pretty decent.

My point is that we can't go out and sign all the players, we need to be cleverer than that. Of course Caicedo will be better than Endo long term but we're unarguably a better team because of the array of midfielders we signed. Not because of a single marquee signing

The only thing I’ve been saying on this matter is that Caicedo is better than Endo. You say “of course” but there are folk claiming Endo is better than him. I disagree. For £16m, Endo is a better short term signing than the £110m Caicedo, 100%.

Indeed, with that Nunez 'moron', and that 'past his best' Salah... how will we manage?

All the best for the New Year people of EST... Love you all, every man, woman and Jaco/Pip...

Or Caicedo might be another Naby Keita who just didn't seem to fancy it after he'd secured his big move and massive contract.

I was disappointed we didn't sign Bellingham and Caceido after all the media attention of it, and let's face it - we all get excited by 'marquee' signings, but the truth is that we had a limited amount of money to rebuild a faltering midfield and we've done pretty well out of it - probably with money to spare.
                  Really?

The Bellingham thing will annoy for longer. He was sold for way less than we offered for Caceido and you just wonder if we'd stayed in the race whether we had a chance. He's kicked in rather nicely hasn't he He either is a ruthless businessman or really did want to come here

I suspect he would have come here, but we're just not prepared to pay all the hangers on. And to be honest, some-one has to take a stand against that - I think the true fee would have been way beyond what Madrid have actually, publicly paid. Just one reason I hate Madrid.
                      Really?

Overall money more than the released transfer fee though. It's like saying Haaland was cheaper than Nunez.

Could be crap, but Bellingham also said he made his mind up to join Madrid after CL final.

I do think there is a chance we got Bellingham had we went all in, but I do think it would be at the expense of Szobo, Mac and Endo, so not sure if we'd be better off for it.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yeah I saw the new year in at home with family & friends watching the Sydney fireworks ( that’s not bad for my age btw ) and got woken up around 5am by a big summer storm.
