4 aways in 9 days. We're away to Atalanta on the 18th.
And if we progress in the Europa League, it will be 5 aways in 14 days. Semi final 1st Leg is May 2nd.
Utterly ridiculous. The league cup should be scrapped to ease fixture congestion.
Nope. UEFA is massively encroaching into the domestic season. They issue isn't with domestic competitions which have been running for over a hundred years, but greed at the top of the game.
Our club has take some responsibility for this since UEFA's actions are a direct response to the super league nonsense three years ago.
The trouble with football is that people cannot look past the end of their noses. It's fueled by self interest and no one has the backbone to stand up to it.
It’s already a problem and has been for years. It’s definitely going to get much worse with the CL changes next season and that’s a bad thing, but the game has moved on and players are prime athletes now, pushing the limits of their bodies, they need fewer games. We don’t need two domestic cups, irrespective of what UEFA do. It would also strengthen the Fa cup.

Disagree.
There could be 9 English teams in Europe next year. Each playing at least 8 additional "league" games
The lower leagues rely on these cups and they are one of the few ways left that wealth gets distributed now, albeit at a pittance of what it should be.
And lower league team landing a tie at one of really big boys can make a massive difference to them.
And ultimately, what is competitive sport without competition? And what is competition without the ability to dream of winning something?
We're chipping away at the wrong parts of the game.
My wife surprised me after United match with a ticket to the Atalanta match So happy, apparently some sort of lounge or hospitality tickets too! Not been since 2002 against Ipswich!
