    It was a clear pen.

McCoist was brutal yesterday. Not sure if he was trying to please his Co-commentator who is always a ballbag, but they were watching a different game to me.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Im putting our lack of intensity down to the kick off time, we certainly created but lacked an end product.

Fair play to Everton, they were defensively sound and had chances.

      But still, hahaha **** off.

It a clear penalty. He slides in, misses the ball and takes out his leg. How its not given defies logic.

Yet all we're hearing is how hard done by Everton were

Young's two yellows were both cards every day of the week ffs. He got done in by Diaz twice and cleaned him out both times. Sean Douche might think thats acceptable standards for tackling, but its clear obstruction on an attack. Yellow's all day.

Konate may have been lucky with the second one, but on replay that bluenose prick clearly dived and tried to milk the card. It was well refereed. He barely touched him.

Besides that, they're talking as though the red killed the game. They were offering nothing up to the red in the first place, so not sure they would've started playing like 1994 Ajax all of a sudden.

Then whinging about the penalty! Its a clear handball. What on earth is he doing with his arm there, its just dumb defending.

For the first time in a very long time we actually got the majority of decisions called correctly.

Agree with all of that. On another day we’d have been out of sight by HT. They offered nothing & deserved nothing but they’ll hang on to the hard done by hashtag till we meet them again.

Was so obviously a penalty, but on the coverage I watched, they showed what was supposedly the VAR replay and it was from a ludicrous angle, right across the pitch and you could barely see the tackle.

It’s not just them, it’s every bit of media coverage. Dull game, obvious conclusion, no drama, there’s a need to create some. A marginal yellow card call happens every damn game and this one wasn’t a particularly controversial one.

Far too much being made of the Konate incident - he barely touches Beto who then goes down like he’s had his legs taken from under him.

If anything Beto should have been booked for trying to cheat the ref.

Exactly this. I was out yesterday but when I saw it today the whole thing is an absolute joke. Konate barely touched him.

It was never going to be a vintage performance, but red card or not I always felt we'd eventually break Everton down. There are similar games in the past that could have been played 5 times over and we'd still not score, but I just think we have too many options in attack now and with Nunez on the bench, it almost feels like a guaranteed goal for him or Mo.

Replacing Tsimikas with Elliot and effectively going two at the back with 4 up front was also a positive tactical change from Klopp.

Klopp's in-game tweaks, changes and subs this season have been great, so much better than last season.

Yep - helps when we can bring quality players on as well

There seems to be so much about Everton being hard done by, the red, which was clearly 2 bookings, he could also have had another booking for kicking the ball away, but didn't, the pen which was clearly a pen, was Konate lucky not ti get a second yellow, maybe, but Diaz should have had another pen, and even at 11 v 11 the chance in the first minute they created nothing. Just seems to be a media agenda against us. MOTD almost always show and discuss controversial decisions that are deemed to go in our way, but so often don't show the controversial decisions that we don't get (eg Diaz pen)
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think Konate was lucky not to get the second yellow- I think it’s debatable whether or not it’s enough to give a foul, but if it’s deemed to be a foul for grabbing the player, it had to be a second yellow.

But I think the referee left a lot of things go in general- not for the good of letting the game flow, or being more lenient. For us, Tsmikas should have been booked. For them, Tarkowshii should have been booked before he was, for taking someone down on the edge of the box (I think Jota); young should have had a second yellow for kicking the ball away - I thought there’s zero tolerance for that this season??; Pickford should have surely been booked for time wasting; Diaz should have had a penalty before he had- I think that’s one where var are playing the “clear and obvious” card, there’s no way they would have overruled that, if the penalty was given on field.

I don’t think Everton can have much complaints in general- their best chance was a plucky attempt from their own half which went well wide. I like how dyche dodged the question when asked if it was right to send young off- “well what about their player…” I think Diaz’ first penalty shout was a lot more stonewall than the konate second yellow
                              I don't tip

He didn't grab the player though, he put his arm across Beto but pulled it back again - the contact was minimal.

I don't how it's even up for discussion, it happened in the middle of the park, not the penalty area and Beto didn't even have control of the ball.

You can't be giving yellow cards to players every time there is contact.
