sorry, that’s what I meant to articulate, saying it’s debatable if it was a foul (if he had full on grabbed him it wouldn’t be debatable). I’m just saying given that the ref deemed it’s a foul, he’s lucky that it wasn’t a second yellow.

If the ref hadn’t blown for a foul, I don’t think we’d be listening to everyone saying it should have been a foul and second yellow.
    I don't tip

I don't how it's even up for discussion, it happened in the middle of the park, not the penalty area and Beto didn't even have control of the ball.

You can't be giving yellow cards to players every time there is contact.
He clipped his leg too. Was a cynical challenge and should have been a booking. Wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game though, if anything might have helped us.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yeah, he caught the Everton player on the shin, which was why the player went down. The Konate arm out wasn't the reason the Everton player went to ground. We got lucky with that one really.

It was a foul, but it’s not as though such fouls are always given as yellows. We have faced players (usually against city) who do three or four a game without any sign of a booking. The reaction is disproportionate because Everton had nothing else in the game, and I mean literally nothing, it’s the only thing for them to whinge about in a totally one sided game, so they are.

I had to watch MOTD to see that. Also had to apologise to my Bluenose mate as I thought it was just the arm out initially too.

The Diaz challenge by Patterson was a clear pen, but oddly VAR nor MOTD saw anything in that….
We are here for a good time not a long time....

This is where the game has gone though, we are regularly having discussions about whether what are minor fouls should result in a yellow or second yellow card, I don’t really remember having these debates a couple of years ago.

The rules are stupid, I don't want to see players getting second yellow cards for silly soft offenses like kicking the ball away or waving imaginary yellow cards and I think for the most part refs probably don't want to do that which is part of the problem with inconsistency. I don't like those behaviours but I think they are too minor to result in someone being sent off, so you end up with some refs being strict and others not and the whole thing is a farse

                4 out of our 9 PL games haven't finished 11 v 11

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We got lucky for sure, but we are allowed to be lucky once in a while like every other team. This is probably the only decision going our way this season that maybe shouldn't have. He wasn't even going to award a penalty in the first place FFS.
                  * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

                    Presume he couldn't see it.

In the context of the game Konate was lucky but until games are refereed by AI there still be inconsistent decisions, thankfully we got one for once.

Garth Crooks....so, 2 of ours make it into his team of the week, but only so he can rant about other players. VVD made it, solely to allow him to have a go at Konate and the refereeing injustice, and then Salah gets in so he can take a pop at Diaz and the referee again.

I think Konate was lucky he didn't get a second yellow. But to be honest the big difference that. I haven't heard anyone on telly make - Diaz beats Young, he is 10 yards from goal with a cut back. Beto beats Konate, he is 75 yards from goal with Liverpool cover. Totally different challenges. ****in lazy cunts
