Yep I was at the game with my eldest also. Their fans were brilliant all game.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI thought the Union fans were good the other week but jeez, the Toulouse lot were absolutely unreal. Possibly the best I've ever seen at Anfield. Insanely loud and never stopped.
Hats of to a group that keep that up as they watch their team go from 1-1 to 5-1 down.
They have a hype man
who stands the entire game co-ordinating the chants and actions.
Also we were right above them, but in main stand - and the atmos when that upper tier is complete is going to be next level on big Euro nights to come.Modifying post.

Apropos of nothing really, but last night I met Harvey Blair's mother-in-law.
Most are probably thinking who the ****'s he. Came through the Academy and started out of the blue at Preston in the League Cup a couple of years ago, a game I was at, and has disappeared without trace since. She goes "are you aware of Harvey Blair?" and I was like "Yep I was there for his debut at Preston"...and she said "he's my son-in-law". She goes "that game alone enabled him to buy his lovely house...paid for the deposit with money to spare".
Assume it was an appearance bonus or something. Imagine that. 18 years old, make one appearance and you're buying a big **** off house because of it.
And he'll never play for the club again.

You know those mini buses / people carrier cabs that go up to the ground from outside the Empire? She was taking payment for those.
We had to wait for ours to arrive and she'd mentioned it / flexed within about 10 seconds of starting to chat to her.
Even got her phone out and started showing us pics of them all together

I think the lower Euro competitions are better as far as fans and locations are concerned. Little teams get a great day out against top class competition, and fans get to travel to interesting locations, not just the usual London, Madrid, Munich etc.
As for the young lad, fair play for not spunking it on a fast car and blow, I know that's what I would have done at that age!Was muß, das muß.

Aye, he's on nearly 200k a year. I reckon you'd get a pretty good house on that. Club probably hope they can get a million for him or something meaning we'll probably wipe our face on him even if he doesn't make it.Originally posted by Liverpool View PostWhat a random flex from her
I think those youth contracts heavily incentivize a first team appearance so it's possible he got a 10/20 grand appearance fee plus a weekly pay rise of a couple of grand for the rest of his deal so could easily have pocketed a few hundred grand.

Its just another way of saying brag really. People seem to like taking words that have no business being used the way they are while theres already a perfectly good one for it. I look forward to the day when we've recycled so many words for 1 thing that 100 words will mean the same thing. And then we can all just converse with 1 word and everyone will know exactly what the other is talking about. Its at this moment when the aliens they've had enough and decide to finally nuke us into oblivion.Originally posted by Norbs View PostWhat's this phrase 'flex' that you kids are using?
