Will be interesting to hear the explanation for the second disallowed goal situation. Salah was pushed into an offside position, so they should have looked at a possible penalty decision but didn't and I think Mo was only in the line of sight because the goalie chose to move to a position from which he couldn't save it, so not interfering.

My coverage showed the var video and it was just the shot with about a second before it, well after the push.

Query: the ref at one point played advantage for us, arm outstretched to show the advantage was being played. We then passed the ball to a Burnley player (ref still had his arm out to indicate advantage). The minute the Burnley player got the ball, the ref lowered his arm but allowed play to continue, the the Burnley player bursting forwarsd and taking a shot that just went past the post.

I found it interesting that MOTD acknowledge that Salah was only in an offside position because he was pushed and don't feel the need to point out how stupid a rule that is, surely good pundits should be asking questions about this?

I am ok with pundits not going into refereeing decisions as long as they don't say anything daft, and acknowledging that Salah was offside only because he was pushed and then saying nothing more WAS daft.

I generally don't watch MOTD because it just seems to be the goals, analysis for idiots, and smug comments - and I can watch the goals elsewhere. I just don't get why the BBC seemingly targets ALL its football content at the same sort of football 'fan'...why doesn't it for example make MOTD2 insightful to the knowledgeable football fan ?

It seems that rather than looking if the goal is good they are actively looking for any reason to disallow us a goal in every game... some sort of hidden agenda for sure!

Ridiculous that Elliott's goal is offside - Clattenburg basically says that yes he (Salah) was pushed, but that yes he was offside and yes he was in front of the keeper. But the push was not enough to be given a foul. Macca now agreeing with Clattenburg having said the very opposite 5 minutes ago.. Ridiculous. Basically saying that all the refs do is apply the laws, not interpret them.. It's all such a ****ing mess. Clattenburg however does agree with the Gakpo goal should've been given. Such a mess - VAR was supposed to remove all this crap.
