If he doesn't come, then to be honest I'd be happy enough to see Ljinders get the gig with an experienced DoF working above him. I think that continuity route might be the best second option to be honest..... Pep Ljinders knows our squad and could essentially continue the good work done.

FSG want to return to their Sporting Director and data led structure and Ljinders was supposedly a big factor in the disconnect with Edwards and then Ward as he wanted the recruitment to be more heavily led by the coaching team.

I think Bayern have been a little negligent on their own midfield rebuild tbh and there are other gaps showing in their squad. I think it’s a bigger job that it seemed a year ago - if Xabi goes there they might bomb him out if he doesn’t hit the ground running. 8 managers in 8 years for them….. we are a better bet

What's the point in Ljinders showing he's ready if Klopp comes and takes his job back after 1 season?

Because they are a basket case of a club and a new contract means nothing? He could win La Liga but relatively early exit from the CL and they still might sack him (based on past experience with their managers).

I also think that there is a link between Madrid and Alonso and they like stirring the **** where we are concerned.

Can't see him going to Bayern straight from his current role, I don't think he'd ever pick Man U (the Liverpool loyalty) or Barca (the Madrid loyalty). So the only club that worry me would be Madrid, but as is pointed out Ancelotti just signed a new deal so would they tear that up so soon?

I reckon IF he leaves Bayer, it will be for us. But he may just want to stay there, build on what he has started.

Says who, it's all speculation still really isn't it? The club haven't spoken a word. I'm not saying the managers who are in the spotlight aren't good choices, just that speculation passed off as fact is just space filling
