To be fair, it’s not been top level anywhere until last summer.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Not quite true.Originally posted by vlahka View PostExactly. And Celtic already had a title winning team before he came.
He took over a Celtic team that was in utter disarray. The season prior to Ange joining they'd lost their 'ten in a row' bid to Gerrards Rangers.
The squad he inherited required an overhaul. Ange oversaw said squad overhaul and won the league in his first season in charge.

How come these excellent players weren't carrying their previous managers? That team have bought into his philosophy and playing style and are becoming much better as a result. The opposite of a team with no identity having to be carried by individuals.Originally posted by vlahka View PostNot anywhere near good enough for liverpool. He lost his only excellent player from the previous season and rejuvenated the only other excellent player in the squad, who was poor the season before. Most of the best performers for them have been new signings. Albeit Johnson looks a bit of a duffer and Werner will have a lot to prove.Originally posted by Mark79 View PostHow come these excellent players weren't carrying their previous managers? Don't want Ange anywhere near our club, but seems a bit of an odd and unfounded character assassination. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

For me Postecoglou is much of a muchness with the other Spurs managers over recent years, they have for much of the last 10 years got between 60 and 72 points in most seasons, which can get them somewhere between 6th or 7th or into the top 4 (usually 4th). The exception to this is a couple of seasons under Pochettino one where they finished 2nd on 86pts and another where they got 77pts, but these are IMO anomalies for what you can expect for Spurs. Where they are at the moment (continuing the current pts per game to the end of the season) they would be on target for 72pts.Originally posted by RedReet View PostHe lost his only excellent player from the previous season and rejuvenated the only other excellent player in the squad, who was poor the season before. To be fair that is a decent start for a new manager and we don't know where he will go with them if he can build on that and get them challenging for the title you would say that he has been a transformative manager for them, but as of yet there isn't evidence of that. He had a great record at Celtic but with all due respect to the league Gerrard had a good record at Rangers but the PL is a different level, and within that we are looking to replace one of the best managers in the world and for me there isn't enough to suggest he could do it.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Saw this elsewhere and thought it was fake, but checked the site and the contract end date listed for every single one of Xabi's back room staff is eye catching.

Very good, he terminates the opposition.
