But that's only if you have injuries etc, if we had none then there would be no call of this kind, You can't change your mindset just due to injuries nor do you at the start of the season, As i said give each trophy 100%Originally posted by Mark79 View PostBut when you get to late Feb and your injuries are in double figures and the games are coming every 3 days, then there’s a very real argument for pragmatism.

But, we do have injuries. Lots of them and to key players too. I suspect we’re in a better position in the league than we probably anticipated at the start of the season. Do we really want to flog the remain fit players in the cups at the potential expense of a league title?Originally posted by John Barnes View PostBut that's only if you have injuries etc, if we had none then there would be no call of this kind, You can't change your mindset just due to injuries nor do you at the start of the season, As i said give each trophy 100%

We have an injury crisis - thankfully the Academy has delivered when we needed them to. It makes the most sense to prioritise the League, Europa and FA Cup in that order.
Winning tonight's game has the side benefit of delaying the derby game, but that's about it. We should do what we can team wise tonight without risking dropping points in the league at the weekend. We are here for a good time not a long time....

Agree with you. Also, when we went for the quad 2 years ago, we missed out on the top 2 prizes by a cunt hair. There is an argument that of we de-prioritised one of the lesser cups, that we'd have won either the league or the CL. There is also an argument that we wrecked a lot of our players for the following season by flogging them so much in persuit of the quad..... Robbo, Virgil, Trent, Mo, Bobby, Diaz all looked ****in knackered last season and it looks like we permanently broke Henderson and Fabinho (and keita and Ox too but they were already ****ed to be fair).Originally posted by Mark79 View PostBut, we do have injuries. Jurgen obviously won't be concerned with next season right now - and shouldn't be even if he was staying himself.
The other side of the argument is that these lads could get injured in training. And we could sack off the cup and still drop points to forest and city in our next 2 league games.
So i actually dont ****in know what we should do tbh

I'm not entering or proposing ****. You're getting me (sitting on my arse saying what trophies I'd like to win - ideally all - but after that I have preferences) mixed up with the very fit millionaires who are excellent at playing football who need to do the actual workOriginally posted by John Barnes View PostYou enter and propose to win every tournament at the start of each new season!

Tone didn't translate there - not irked at all. I'm saying I'm just a guy on the internet with an opinion - others do the hard workOriginally posted by John Barnes View PostI suggest you step away from the keyboard and calm down, Why your getting irked i really don't know.

Mind you I thought the same throughout Sunday.
Absolutely opposed to taking any sort of risk with Nunez, Mo and Szob tonight with Saturday in mind.
I think the odds are against us but I do feel that young players have earned themselves the opportunity to play this with no added pressure.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I honestly think that had we sacrificed the League and FA Cups two seasons ago then we would've been odds on for the league and CL, especially the league as we were just a point shortOriginally posted by badpiggy View PostPragmatically, I don't care about the FA Cup. I want us to win either the Europa or preferably the league if we need to make choices. I'd hate to win the FA Cup if it scuppered our chances in the other 2. Obviously winning them all is the dream but...

It's hard to know. Momentum is such an important thing as well. It was an insane achievement while being very disappointing.Originally posted by Norbs View PostI honestly think that had we sacrificed the League and FA Cups two seasons ago then we would've been odds on for the league and CL, especially the league as we were just a point shortFelching ≠ Gerbilling
