This. Heard a couple of guys at the bar saying their only chance of going to Anfield was these games unless they pay through the arse for other tickets.Originally posted by Liverpool View Postmental these legends games sell out so easily, probably shows how inaccessible first team tickets are for many
VERY family heavy, loads of kids and toddlers there.
Buses from town were mental (saw a couple of queues with 100s of fans in each) so we walked from Epworth Street where the car was parked.
Lush lunch in Spice Thai, tiny place on Castle St.
Decent prices for food and drink in the ground, nice surprise.
Torres very well received by the crowd.
Gerrard by far the biggest cheers.
Sven got a superb reception, very emotional.
Amount of money spent on merch was insane, local traders do really well obvs.
Great day but left Torbay at 4.45am, got home just after 11pm

What are you laughing at? I’d have had to have left by Wednesday or Thursday & wouldn’t get home till about Wednesday & would have cost around £2-3K so I think 16.5 hrs & a few hundred ££’s to be quite acceptableOriginally posted by Norbs View Post
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

A good but long day. Probably spent around £150 all in as I used the company vehicle to drive (probably £130 in diesel saved). Bought a couple of Beatles t shirts at Albert Dock for the kids, breakfast, lunch, dinner and beers. My nephew would have spent a bit less.Originally posted by SB View PostWhat are you laughing at? Will probably try and get my son up there for a midweek break over the summer, so much to see and do.

Make sure that your son brings the camera too. So much to take pics off even in and around the area you were at let alone having to go far from the city.
Beside where I used to live there (One Park West) you have Chavasse (is across the road from the Albert Dock) and there have been a pair of Peregrine falcon roosting and nesting there the past two years. I often see them when I am staying with a friend in the Colonades and cutting across the park to get to Liverpool One or on my way to the Ropewalks.
If you two do go up midweek in the summer, drive to get an evening viewing at the drive in cinema across in Birkenhead. They do classic and cult films all year round and in the summer they will have films like Jaws, Jurassic Park etc.
He might or might not be a bit young for a music bar, but one of my haunts from when I visit and from when I lived near the Albert Dock is not far from the drive in Cinema and that is the Swinging Arm Bar.
A out and out old school rock bar that has a live band (usually a cover band) or great rock music on the jukebox going all the time. Is a biker bar (in a friendly way) too so often lots of cool bikes parked up.
I reckon your son and camera would love the area around the bombed out church (St Luke's) as well. A dry summer day being the best time to go for pics.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness
