Brighton at Home Thread Sunday 2pm Match 29

Sunday at home at 2pm with the Arse & City playing at 430 is a tasty treat coming up hopefully. We just need to do our bit & see what happens in the other match

Robbo looks like he’s out so either Kostas or Joe on the left.

Konate, Virg & Quansah just played the full 90 in the internationals so I doubt we play Ibou twice in a week with his injury record.

    Kelleher
    Bradley
    Gomez
    Virg
    Kostas
    Dom
    Endo
    Mac
    Mo
    Nunez
    Diaz
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Not sure Mac Allister will start. Argentina kick off in LA in 4 hours from now. Going to be a very tight turnaround for him.

          Brighton injury latest

Roberto De Zerbi has injury concerns of his own with a number of key players missing the rest of the season. Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma is among them and remains sidelined with a back problem. Youngster Jack Hinshelwood is also unlikely to feature again this term while Solly March has not played since October due to a serious knee problem.

Brighton has also been without top scorer João Pedro since the start of February. He has scored 19 times this season and Sussex World reports he has an outside chance of being involved at Anfield, as does defender Adam Webster.

De Zerbi could have two former Liverpool players available though in James Milner and Adam Lallana. Milner has not played since the loss to Luton but is not too far away.

I wonder if any of the guys who have been out a while will be in the squad for this game. Be great if a few of them where fit enough to be on the bench.

Having Jones back for the run in would be big one for me.

He has been our best midfielder for me this season and that is even with how good MacAllister has been.

Jones comes in and we always look far more solid, we are harder to take the ball off of, and the guys around him get more time to make runs as he keeps the ball so damn well.

For me he has quietly become more important to the balance of the first team than TAA and I love the fact how good he is seems to fly under the radar as it allows him to just get on with his job on the pitch.

If Jones is back in the starting line up within the next three games and he stays fit, then we are bringing the league home. Think the guy is that good now and that important to us.

Often over the years said he reminded me of one or two of the best German midfielders of recent decades along with him obviously having learned a lot from Thiago (just watch how he dips a hip to drag the ball and then look at how Thiago does it), and I genuinely think if Jones was German and playing at the level he is at now for Bayern, the media would be lauding him as a top class operator.

Agreed, he's fit right into an Alonso side too. With all the hype around Mainoo (who also looks a real talent albeit untested at the highest level), he can focus on getting fit and establishing himself in the first XI again.

I can't wait to see Elliott develop further too. He absolutely dominated in the U21 and you can see the type of player he's going to become in a few years.

Yeah having a fit & firing Jones back will be a real bonus, just like Thiago would be

Yaaa the players that are due to come back could give us that extra umph to get over the line in a title race. I’d just say that with the exception of Allison, they all prob need to be eased back in from the bench. Their backfills have been doing a solid job, and one rusty performance from someone who would ideally need a few games to get up to speed, could cost us the title.

Yeah Jones has gone to another level in the last 12 months and is a vital part of this team now. His ball retention is brilliant as is his use now, he used to hold on to it that little too long at times. Plus he’s getting a few goals as well.

He has always had bags of confidence in his ability and even with the injuries and criticism he’s come through it and shown why. Fits in with the mentality monsters you need to win at the top.

Argentina's match only finished near 5am yesterday our time.
A 10 hour flight later and he's back in training the next day.

****in on a mission that fella

At this stage of the season any win will do but it would be lovely to lay down a marker with a big **** off win against these cunts. Put our feet up then and hopefully watch City and Arsenal knock 7 shades of **** out of each other.

Follow that up with a good win v Sheffield United and we are down to 8 games to go ffs. Could be beautiful
