This is our problem. It's exactly how they'll play and we are capable of giving away the softest of goals to the worst teams in the league. We don't really know how to play any other way.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

No way is gomez our best defender. He is clumsy and switches off all the time. His pace gets him out of trouble. He's been good on the ball but his limitations are apparent when he constantly cuts inside. He started in the cup game and was poor. We have drawn at home and lost in the cup. Let's have a more positive approach this time.Originally posted by rudedog View PostIf Man Utd sit deep and we play high up the pitch with our full backs pushed up, we will be playing the game they want - it will allow them to do their quick counters without them having to commit too many players forward.
Gomez isn’t being shoehorned in either - he's probably been our best defender this season. In the cup game, we looked sketchy AF on the right after Klopp swapped Gomez with Bradley.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Yeah we could do with a fast start today.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostGomez will start and for me that immediately hands the initiative to utd. We need to stop trying to shoehorn him in. Bradley and Robbo bombing up each wing. Take the game to them and ensure we don't come off saying what if. They are a poor side and if we go full tilt we'll murder them. When we slow it down we look very average. Toothless in fact. Let's get straight into to them from the off, 3 up in 15 minutes and then manage the game out. Job done.
Impressive away wins from City and Arsenal yesterday. We need to push home our advantage. Make them pay for not going for it when they played each other.
Interestingly just back from my sons match and one of his team mates is respecting Ramadan and we gave him a lift, no water for a full match… is that the same for the pros? It has to be a factor in energy levels.Modifying post.

Their crowd is a fast start from us away from turning on the manager also - the fact that they are so close to the edge morale wise has to be something we use to our advantage.
ETH has said they will play angry. I’m not sure that’s what they need and again if we can take the emotion out of the game and kill the crowd we are in a strong position.
As with the remaining games any sort of win will do, but a good win would be nice for supporter health and well being.Modifying post.

Have you been watching Gomez this season? Clumsy and unfocused is not how I would describe his performances and the impact he has had, he’s hardly put a foot wrong.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostNo way is gomez our best defender. We were winning comfortably while he was playing RB in the cup game, we only came undone when Klopp swapped him with Bradley.

I think there will goals for both teams today.
We need to be super clinical and ruthless with chances we will get. Can't really afford to be wasteful today.
Even if we go two up at some stage, they can get a couple of goals from nowhere. Just like they did at Chelsea and us in the past few weeks.Oh I don't know.

The supposed Manc line up is out too. No Garnacho if true.Last edited by Doc_Piptorious; 07-04-24, 01:55 PM.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Rumoured team was correct
Strong bench too.
That starting XI is more than good enough to get the job down. Just needs to match the Mancs for intensity from the first whistle and then let quality show.
The Garnacho not starting for them rumour was wrong thoughLast edited by Doc_Piptorious; 07-04-24, 02:33 PM.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Quite zen about the game.
Think we will have learned lessons from the other two games against them this season.
Be no surprise to see them score first and maybe even go two ahead and then after a half time of the team being called **** in this thread, we blitz them in the second half.
Been a while since I said this, but think we are about to have a gunfight game.
Hopefully the Mancs have brought a pocket knife to said gun fight

I'm surprisingly relaxed too. Stress levels are nowhere near the Arsenal or City matches. Yet...Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostQuite zen about the game.

We're gonna smash them, Bob.
So pour yourself a nice gin, then have another gin or three, kick back and sit there safe in the knowledge we are going to win because I said so.
Then after we win, come thank me.
If for some reason we do not win, then blame Dom for being a surprisingly relaxed jinx. crackoff:I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
