I guess in this context it would be a fan who put their own football club so far first that they don't care that it may seriously offend a rival fanbase and in particular the families of the 39 dead and approx 600 injured.Originally posted by memzey View PostSorry, not sorry. Top fan?
Just so we can sing a song about a fairly insignificant player for us.
I doubt whoever penned the song meant any reference to heysel but as a club with our own tragic past it should be completely irrelevant. .
But apparently not

Taken from AI
Federico Chiesa was humbled and grateful when he heard the chant dedicated to him by Liverpool fans. The chant, sung to the tune of "Sway" by Dean Martin, goes like this: "We can hear them crying in Turin, Federico he's here to win, One chat with Arne Slot and he said ciao, F**k off Juve, I'm a Kopite now!"
When asked about the chant by LFCTV, Chiesa modestly replied, "I have to thank the fans because I didn’t play that much this year but to receive this love back from the fans is just amazing, and the song actually has a good tune!" He was clearly moved by the scenes during Liverpool's parade and appreciated the support he received from the fans and his teammates, especially during tough times.
Chiesa's appreciation for the fans' support is evident, and he seems to have developed a strong connection with the Liverpool supporters despite limited playing time due to injuries and competition. The chant has become an instant favorite among fans and reflects their belief in Chiesa's quality and potential ¹.

Alright, top fan.Originally posted by memzey View PostFede’s chant is an absolute banger and has **** all to do with Hysel. **** Juve and anyone else who doesn’t like it. I hope it gets belted out every game.

Perhaps, but I think it is a risky gesture. Like I said, how many other player chants reference previous teams? I prefer your version of the truth anyway.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI assumed the juve jibe was related to them freezing/pushing him out.

No I agree, it's obviously insensitive at the least. Sure it doesn't reference Heysel, but that would be insane. The implication for Juve fans is clear enough. We can't mess with that **** and then complain about hate chanting. How many other player's songs reference their previous team? I'm not an aficionado but I can't think of any. It's hard to draw any other inference imo.Originally posted by BG1973 View PostLol. And fandom is always reasonable and unemotional.
That song was clearly a huge mistake and the only thing to do is apologise and stop singing it.
Or tell Tony and Juve to stop being so boring. Lol.Last edited by Tatterdemalion; 19-08-25, 08:01 PM.

Clearly to any reasonable person there's no reference to Heysel whatsoever.
