He's had a very easy set of games so far, I'd say over the opening 5 league games, he shouldn't be dropping 3 points anywhere, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in the next 2, especially following on from the game against Milan.

      Result yes, it happens.

Performance and lack of urgency, concerning.

I think it was complacency across the board, manager included due to him not understanding the league yet. Slot needed a day like to to learn about the league, the refs and actually some of his players. Every team in the EPL fights and you have to earn it.

Credit also to Forest who are on a good run when you include the games at the end of the season. The stuck to their game plan and the ref let them get away with roughhousing our players and they lost their heads

My only real concern is that Slot also seemed to lose his head, we seemed shapeless and very unstructured. As well as a DM I think centre forward looks like an area to address. Both Jota and Nunez were very ineffective yesterday

Jota, Salah and Dom all had absolute stinkers, games like this you need your players to show some grit and just out-work the other team.

There was just no cohesion today, where were all the neat triangles and bounce passes that have been so effective at progressing the ball in previous games?

The subs made absolutely no impact, such a shame that Elliot was injured as this is the type of game where his guile, creativity and tenacity was really needed.

Also, what’s going on with Nunez? Even when he was poor he always seemed to put a shift in but he looks to have completely lost his passion.

Upon reflection, the most concerning thing for me is that yesterday was the first time this season that we’ve come across a team who play a low block. We spectacularly failed to create anything and allowed ourselves to get rattled.

Thus will now be the way almost every team who comes to Anfield will play. So we’re going to have to figure that out, and fast.

He needs to feel loved. The manager obviously doesn't rate him. He should always be starting ahead of jota for me. Jota is an impact player. Use him as sub. Play nunez and get him scoring.

This is true, although the amount of misplaced passes or in or around the box from individuals yesterday was chronic throughout the team.

So hopefully it may have been a case of just one of those days, rather than an endemic problem with Slot’s system against bus parkers.

There was no issue creating opportunities but they never turned into chances so I don't think it's a low block thing.

Frustrating as hell, that team should never be getting beaten by Forest at home.

Low points were game stopped for Mac callister injury due to arm in the face from Yates.. but game restarted with a drop ball to them. So arm in face is allowed apparently.

And salah towards end cutting inside and deciding to shoot straight at keeper when two players lined up for a cut back.

Slot pushing trent into midfield which effectively lost us thr match also pretty bad. Hopefully we never see that again...

Not sure why people are pointing out Nunez and Gakpo being poor and did nothing when they came on. Low hanging fruit really. Easy option to just have a pop at them isn't it.

Did you watch the rest of the team? The passing was absolutely horrific, no forward in the history of football would've been able to change that car crash of a performance from our entire side.

I'd argue that was Sarah's worst game for us. He was pure ****e. Couldn't pass, could run, couldn't shoot, gave the ball away over and over again...yet stays on the pitch.

We had one midfielder playing well, and by playing well I mean a 6/10 performance from Gravenberch. He blocked the channels, kept recycling the ball and basically did the job of a 6.

MacAllister and Szobo were poor and they, along with TAA, as the creative players in the team pretty much starved the front three of any balls to run onto. That lack of creativity got even worse when TAA went into midfield.

When we tried to change our game plan to going wide, the Forest full backs were on really good form and nullified Salah and Diaz easily and the fact that TAA and Robertson offered little to no attacking cover to our wingers made it even easier for Forest.

Jota looked poor but then again he is a player, like Nunez, that requires balls to be running onto or a lot of movement behind him for him to make runs for, so difficult to criticise either him or Nunez for not being able to do much with the scraps they were served.

Is the sort of game, I think, that teaches a manager a lot about his team, players and tactics. A bloody nose against a "smaller" team to wake us up collectively and remind us that we are not a settled team on and off the pitch but rather a work in progress.

Probably a few more of these "bloody noses" to come this season in amongst strings of good results. Just something to be endured and learned from by the manager, the players and us as supporters.

I said in the opening sentence of my post that Salah, Jota and Dom all had absolute stinkers. These were the worst offenders IMO.

All the subs were garbage, the only reason I mentioned Nunez was because he seems to have lost his spark completely - weve seen him be frustratingly bad plenty of times before but he always seemed to putting in the effort.
