Though oddly enough a lot of the very best keepers seem to miss a similar number of days as Ali.


Neuer, Courtois, Maignan etc.

All big agile men like Ali so would all suffer, imo of course, from more by way of impact based injuries that sneak up on them once they have done enough cumulative damage.

Neuer and Courtios had serious injuries.

Ali seems to pick up a lot of niggling injuries. Never a single injury on the scale of Neuer or Courtios (thankfully)

Courtois had loads of muscle and ligament related injuries and a lot of the injuries that Neuer got were either muscular/ligament in nature or in parts of the body that generally suffer from cumulative effect injuries.

Same with Maignan.


All four men have similar styles of goal keeping, are unusually agile from their sizes and have more body weight to come crashing down after each save.
