It's an opportunity for an unexpected result if Saka and Odegard are out

Yeah hopeful of a result here but a draw wouldn’t be the end of the world.

What is our season objective if losing to a rival is a 'free hit'? I jus don't see how any league game could be considered a free hit.

We were seconds away from going 3 clear points ahead of City last week. To find ourselves 2 points behind and 5 points worse off overall would a a huge blow imo.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yeah it's a huge game & a massive opportunity to beat them when the are vulnerable with injuries.

They will be missing Saliba and Califiori and possibly Timber, that means they will have to shuffle their defence which is almost ever present. Factor in Odegaard and possibly Saka missing (although I expect him to be fit) then it’s another boost

They are very defensive and live off set pieces - we need to be super disciplined and focussed but I think we can go there and win. Jota is a loss as he always plays well vs them but we’ve got enough to cause them problems.

Yep most certainly not a free hit in any way or form. Imo in a title winning season you need to be beating your main rivals at home and getting at least a point at their grounds to gain some advantage as you will probably match them over the course of a season against the non title chasing teams.

Big chance to lay down a marker at the weekend.

Not going to read an awful lot into their injuries as it is not as though we don't have the likes of Alisson and Jota out. We also have at least three very good squad players out so is not like we are going in full strength against "plucky" Arsenal even though some in the media seem to be trying to paint that picture.

Think we need to treat them as what they are. A very good team that finished 7 points above us in the league last season and 17 points ahead of us the previous season. Put their injuries out of our collective heads and just see a reason to be switched on and giving everything.

Agree with you as well in thinking we can go there and win. We are not flawless at the back, but there is a real solidity showing in the back line as the player's get more and more used to how Slot wants the team to set up.

Am far more confident of being able to withstand pressure and then hit on the counter this season than I was last season or the season before.

I can't believe how much hyperbole there is concerning slot and us so far. I mean by the media not the fans. Headlines on talksport, espn, sky, goldbridge etc. I feel they are deliberately setting us in the hope we crash. Unbeatable. Too good. Etc etc.

It's far too early to get any idea how things are going to pan out. Results have been very good, performances less than convincing at times. The forest result shows how easy it can not work out. We're a team in transition that is looking better defensively than previously but are winning games by the odd goal. It's encouraging but that is all. Arsenal is traditionally a tough away game and they are more than capable of giving us a right going over.

If we win again in our biggest test by far, then the signs are looking good. I'd happily take a draw as I still put the home team as favourites.

Like I say, no liverpool fan I know is getting carried away. We're all delighted at the wins obviously. But the rest of the football fraternity seem to have lost their minds for clicks.

trained behind closed doors, what an absolute shocker. Arteta is such a tool.

Swap Alisson for Kelleher and you have our best XI imo.

Plenty good enough to go toe to toe with Arsenal.

I actually think Doms energy and closing down is important today. At home less so. Oh well, let's see how it plays out. In agreement on disliking arsenal. Goes back to perry groves and 1987 for me.

Jones deserves that start in after his performance last week. Presume he’ll be at 10 or maybe swap with Alexis.
