    Real Madrid Wednesday 27th 8pm

Not sure what Slot does here regarding personnel. Obviously to us the City match is the priority so who gets a rest with that in mind or does he go full strength?

I hope Tsimikas is available for this as Robbo was dire on the weekend. If he’s not we could give Gomez a start at LB but I expect him to play somewhere for sure. Do we risk Gravenberch as he had lumps kicked out of him at St Marys?

No Vinny for them is huge but they still have Mbappe & Bellyache who can cause us problems.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I really don't get this narrative that robbo was dire. He got forward well, kept the ball moving quickly and gave great balance down the left. He mistimed a tackle outside the box after ****ing virgil was playing Mr Casual in the middle of the pitch. He also sliced a clearance. Konate was poor throughout. First half especially.

Passing it backwards because you have no right foot doesn't count as 'quickly' in my book

He was poor defensively (so was the rest of the defence tbf)

It's more that's it all becoming a recurring theme with him. He's not as good going forward as he was, he's absolutely shocking shooting at goal (so is Tsimikas) and his crossing has dropped off quality wise big time. His corners are generally absolute muck

It's all to be expected though really, he has been absolutely flogged for like 6 seasons. One of the few we have that never got rotated, and his role is to run and run all game. Not surprised his form the past couple of seasons has dropped right off. Same happened to Fabinho

Was the sliced clearance you mentioned was that the overhead kick that created a great chance for them? He was ordinary at best & one of our worst on the day. I agree the 2 CB’s weren’t much better but between 5’s & 6’s for the 3 of them. The difference is the CB’s have been brilliant of late & Robbo hasn’t.

From what we’ve seen of Slot there is nothing to suggest he won’t go as strong as possible and the same again at the weekend. It just depends on if Trent is fit and if not then Gomez might play as it’s Mbappe. Mac and Diaz to come back into to the side I expect as well

Yeah I'm afraid he will go strong too. Really no need but who am I to argue with Bob Paisley mkII. Personally I would prefer:

            Alisson
            Gomez Quansah VvD Timmy
            Macca Endo Jones
            Diaz Nunez Gakpo
            One tit for another.

Timmy's out injured for a little while - ankle

Is Ali available for this game? Would be a boost ahead of City on Sunday

While it's a boost for us not having to face that little prick and keeping the match a little more honest, they still have dangerous players who can hurt us, so bear that in mind!

I'm sure Slot's team talk will focus on where we can hurt them rather than worrying about what Madrid will do. Madrid will find us a different proposition than last time, that match still irks me after being 2-0 up at halftime only to collapse in 2nd half to 5-2...wtf!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

They did the exact same thing to Dortmund this season in the CL.

Dortmund 2-0 at half time, still 2-0 up with 30 mins to go then Real just blitzed them with 5 goals.

Vini jr and Militao being out is massive though.

Takes away their most direct attacker imo and their best CB when it comes to countering the sort of attackers we have.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

                      For me

                      Jones Gravenberch Macca

Think I might go with Szobo over McAllister tbh as the latter has been poor at times of later. Plus the one area Real are going to go to war with us is in the middle.

Probably go with the same front three, but cannot help but think that Nunez might get a lot of joy against the current Real backline. His mix of pace and physicality would not suit Real at all imo.

Think Gomez at LB would be a smart move as they would have Rodrygo on their right and Gomez can match him for pace and muller him in terms of strength.

I’d keep Szobo fresh for City personally but I think Nunez off the bench might be better.
