Would you play Nunez here, to hopefully give him some confidence with a goal or two?

Only if we could draw loads of goal posts and crossbars behind the goal, reckon he’d deffo be on for a hatrick.

Jarell Quansah and Dominik Szoboszlai are set to come back into contention for Liverpool’s Emirates FA Cup tie with Accrington Stanley.

The Reds enter the competition at the third-round stage by hosting the League Two team at Anfield on Saturday lunchtime.

Arne Slot reported at his pre-match press conference on Friday morning that Quansah is expected to be available after being withdrawn during the first half of the midweek Carabao Cup defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

And Szoboszlai, who was absent for that game and the preceding Premier League draw with Manchester United due to illness, is also back in training.

Asked about the condition of Quansah and Szoboszlai, and if other players may get a chance against Accrington, Slot told reporters: “Every game is an opportunity for them to have a chance to play. And this one as well.

“Dom trained with the U21s yesterday.

“Jarell, like I said, he was a bit ill last week. As a result of that I had to take him off during the game, but I’m expecting him to be available for tomorrow.

“So, yes, we know we can use these players in every single game and also in the one we have on Saturday.”

You’re probably right actually as I was thinking he was suspended but that’s only in the league.

If salah is even in the squad, slot needs his head checking. Perfect time for a rest.

If Mo is thinking about the Ballon d’Or, he might be asking to play.

Well it is between him and TAA at present, so Mo needs all the minutes he can get...

What is mad is that Michael Owen is the only Liverpool player to have ever won it whilst a Liverpool player. Added that last bit before anyone said Kevin Keegan

I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Looking at the list of winners there’s a few odd years. Papin, Weah and Stoichkov won it but Kenny didn’t, neither did Iniesta nor Henry. Rummenige was a great player but no chance was he better than Kenny. Stevie came third in 2005 with Ronaldinho winning and Lampard of all people second. Sadio came second in 2022.

But isn't it just an award for current or former Real Madrid, Barcelona and Spanish national team players, however past-it they are at the time of the award?

Surely even Salah isn't even naive enough to think he'll win the Balloon door? Wrong colour, religion, etc. You name it. Can't even win Balloon window player of the month against another non-white fella.

Glad Szoboszlai is back, these games without him are showing how integral he’s become for the team both defensively and in attack. Give him some minutes in the cup so he’s ready for Forest.

I wonder how many of the team have had some sort of illness. Quansah couldn’t make it through the match and with the recent drop in intensity maybe a few more have been off but able to play. Slot doesn’t come across as someone who’s going to make excuses with injuries or illness for any drop in form and mention anything about it.
