    So glad he's learning quickly.

Just seen the Salah disallowed goal, how come VAR cleared the offside in seconds? Looked really tight to me.

I'd love Cunha in our team, I think he can be the new Firmino.

Yeah, Slot said that was why in the post match interview

We need about a two points per game average which is the sort of form over the course of a season that might get you third or fourth.

I know which of those two alternatives looks the more likely.

We do have some tough games ahead not least having Villa and City back to back as our next league games.

Then again after Arsenal play West Ham their next three league games are Forest away, Man U away and Chelsea at home. Games that could go either way and two of them are games for Arsenal where the form guide goes out the window much as it does for us when we play Man U away or Everton away.

We are in a fantastic position. Twenty five league games into the season, with a new manager, and we are seven points clear.

There is not a single one of us that would not have thought such a scenario was nowt more than wishful thinking if it was said last August.

We might look a bit tired and leggy at the moment, but as many games as we have this month, we go the other way in March, plus we have a lot of players in our squad who know what it is like to lead a charge and also know what it is like to be in a tight race so we have the heads for whatever battle comes our way.

Another thing is that it is a tiny bit easier to get that bit more out of tired legs when they are used to nicking wins and getting results than it is to do the same when those tired legs have been giving their all and not reducing the lead held by the team they are chasing.

Arteta can bring all the lightbulbs, pickpockets and gold flaked steaks (the sick ******* having that done to a steak ) he likes, but for all the talk of us "bottling" it or how we are going to bottle it, the team chasing us is being led by a guy who has never found a way to win that chase and the one year he does not have the financial dopers to chase, he is struggling to chase a team undergoing a degree of transistion.

We will wobble, we will get rocked, we might even see our lead reduce, but I am damn sure we are going to see Arsenal stumble, rock and wobble too.

The championship rounds are ahead of us now, Arsenal think we are Marvin Hagler and they are Sugar Ray Leonard.

They are half right on that, shame the bit they got wrong is not knowing they are Thomas Hearns.

Love this summary, captures the situation perfectly. It’s squeaky bum time for sure but we are the ones in front and the team chasing us has no history of going past 90 points even with a full squad, and they are a long way from that at the moment.

There’s a reason the OPTA super computer has us at an 87% chance to win the league

Don't even think 90 points will be needed this season, probably closer to 85.

We need 8 wins and a draw from 13 games to get that.

Arsenal need 11 wins from 13 just to get to 86 points.

Think we can afford to have some cautious optimism floating about at present

Totally agree and a replay or lines were not shown afterwards

The one still on Sky was from about the 18 yard box looking back towards the halfway line. A crap angle to judge it on.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

I think the commentators said it was clearly off but it wasn’t a great angle and to me it looked tight with both defenders in the shot but the one furthest away on the other side of the pitch looked the deepest, to me those ones are hardest to judge because of perspective. I thought the lines would have been needed.

Edit: not saying the decision was wrong, just surprised at how quickly it was given and the lack of replays, lines etc for a relatively close call.

I thought the reverse angle for the Everton equaliser looked off but they never showed it again.

I’m not sure what the semi-automatic system is going to deliver, or why we couldn’t use the FIFA/UEFA system. I think what PGMOL/PL are proposing still gives VAR the final say, which means more bull**** decisions, but this time backed by the technology!

Come to think of it that VAR review of the offside came back suspiciously quickly.

Not sure where else to put it but decision to allow Everton equalizer after push on Konate looks like it will be erased from history.

Maybe they will comment on it after Slot and assistant verdicts but somehow I think it will disappear.
